To say that there is no longer good music being made is both naive and false, perhaps more a reflection of the speaker than of the modern music scene itself. Just as in any other time period, there exists a plethora of exciting, engaging, intelligent new musicians and song crafters. What is true about today, however, is that it does seem to be more difficult to find said artists. London producer The Purist dropped his TR-ill E.P back inFebruaryfeaturing some grimydirty MPC funk featuring the likes of Danny Brown, Havoc of Mobb Deep , and Cas . Here we got the video for the first single Jealousy featuring Danny Brown ravaging the track with a line from the Biggie Smalls classic Ten Crack Commandments as the hook. The video is made by Globodigital the same folks that cooked up the video for TheMiracleby Homeboy Sandman. The video is pretty trippy but fits perfectly with the songs overall simplistic complexity. Duke Duke Duke Dumont. You can say this Londoner is my favorite producer at the moment. The first track of his I really liked was Thunder Clap. It's one of those 127 bpm high energy ones that at the time was easily blendable to the big room bangers I was spinning more of at that period. As time went on my grooves started slowing down and getting more base line friendly and really focused on soulful vocals.
