Although the first post on this blog appeared over a year ago today marks the anniversary of the first post about music with mp3's, so I consider today the true anniversary of the blog. So whilest everyone is travelling across the country today and tomorrow to visit family, spending hours upon hours in the kitchen cooking and baking or just relaxing I thought I'd take today to thank everyone for visiting, commenting and emailing me. I know the past few months have been difficult for bloggers, especially some of my cover loving friends, but as long as there are people [...]
Here's the video to the remix of one of my summer anthems. New York's Joell Ortiz has hopped on board and provides a cheeky verse on an all new video. The hook-up is a result of DJ Semtex being a don and working on a mix CD called 'Pounds & Dollars' with Joell Ortiz. Brap.
If an album fusing the musical stylings of Bob Marley and Jack Johnson sounds appealing, you'll appreciate this debut offering from Natty. You may think that Natty penned most of the songs on Man Like I while living in some tropical paradise, as his defining sound is laid-back acoustic reggae-soul. On closer inspection of these summery tunes, indie influences reveal themselves and it is apparent Natty is a product of his London upbringing. This so-called street philosopher takes on board that age old adage of writing about what you know. His lyrics tell tales of everyday [...]
Hot on the heels of his first release, Natty bounces back with single number 2 called 'July' It's a nice (as the name suggests) summery number and the video is worth a watch:

I seem to be listening to a lot of singer/songwriters this week. Natty landed in my inbox this week. Although I'm sometimes adverse to plugging major labels artists, this guy offers something a little different from the norm. Raised on everything from Neil Young to Stevie Wonder, Natty's music reflects his eclecticism and his songs are a unique acoustic based mix of indie, soul, reggae, afrobeat and hip hop. His live show has already seen him grace the stages of Glastonbury, Bestival, O2 Wireless Festivalsand supporting Kate Nash, Mr Hudson, Remi Nicole, Hard Fi and Adele. [...]

The good folks of NME have initiated a program to counter the recent actions of the British Nationalist Party (A 'White Power ' political group) of distributing racist mixtapes of white power music outside British primary and high schools. How fucked up is that. Anyway, NME decided to make their own mixtape called Love Music Hate Racism, that promotes multicultural love and tolerance, something the world needs a lot more of. The mix CD has a range of British acts from many different cultures and many different styles. Here are a couple of the better tracks both of a reggae [...]
