Check out the always awesome Nick Cave and Neko Case's cover of The Zombies classic tune "She's Not There" from the upcoming True Blood Vol. 3 soundtrack. Although not my favorite version of the cover, mine being Malcolm McLaren's [RIP] " About Her " from the Kill Bill soundtrack, it's still a great take on the original. Neko Case and Nick Cave have covered the Zombies' "She's Not There" for HBO's True Blood . KCRW DJ Gary Calamar, who serves as music supervisor for the vampire comedy (did you think it was a drama?), commissioned Lafayette rocker CC Adcock to come up with the "more dark and sexy" swamp pop arrangement, then decided upon a Case/Cave collaboration while looking through the C section of his music collection (really). For whatever reason, vampire-related movies and TV shows has a knack for piecing together solid soundtracks. My Morning Jacket have announced plans to play a benefit show to raise money for the United Way of West Alabama . THe band will be joined by Neko Case , and Phosphorescent both of who will also play the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater on August 19th. The money raised at the benefit concert will go towards the tornado relief effort in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Tickets for the show go on sale next Friday (June 17) at 10am Central through Ticketmaster.
