So I posted that Britney Spears remix as a bonus in the last post because I know you guys have been longing for more B-rit here on Tracasseur. Which also is the reason why I declared this Friday "Britney Spears remixes Friday" when tweeting the last post. Actually, that's half true. Being in a DJ duo with Jonny sometimes makes us quarrelling like a married couple. One thing we argue about is whether it's ok to play Britney remixes. Me, being slightly more ironic and slightly less self-concious, love seeing hipsters dancing to a track and [...]

There are thousands of popular artists out there today making new singles all the time. With the increase of bedroom producers though, the ability to simply download a whole studio that you can use right on your lap has made original songs more scarce. Now it seems that your finding tens of thousands of remixes by artists with more and more ludicrous names, leaving you wondering "Transexual Viking Sword Bro- what???." This weekly segment will bring you the popular remixes and the never heard of "Transexual Viking Sword Brothers" remixes of a (common) artist's singles. From all these bedroom producers [...]

![[mpFree Premiere] Put Your Hands Up For Neo-Tokyo – Blood Of Brethren // Song Of The Day #271](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3513594_lg.jpg)
In recent weeks we have had Songs Of The Day from some pretty strangely named bands , but I think it's safe to say that Put Your Hands Up For Neo-Tokyo (or the even more ridiculous PYHUFNT) take first prize in the odd moniker stakes. The Bergen-based act are apparently already a pretty big deal in their home country, having been nominated for the Norwegian equivalent of a Mercury Prize. Here, though, their ambitious, musical theatre-meets-AnCo work is virtually unknown. 'Blood of Brethren' is the [...]
Put Your Hands Up For Neo-Tokyo (No, they couldn't have chosen a longer name), aka. PYHUFNT, are currently working on their debut album. To celebrate, the Norwegian band have put out their first single, 'The Ghost', through SoundCloud. It's fresh from the studio and mixing, and the result is exactly 4 minutes and 25 seconds of pure pleasure! When I listen to the song, for some reason I get a picture of a guy running through a creepy industrial area. The vocal has a unique sound to it, and it's really addictive. (My stereo has been playing the song [...]

It's easy to forget about reality after being on constant travels for three months, backpacking from the one remote place to the other in the amazingly photogenic southeast Asia. Coming back to civilization again is not the easiest thing, but I was lucky enough to be met by an e-mail and a so-called 'welcome home gift' from the Norwegian electronic/indie five-piece and NFOP favourites Put Your Hands Up For Neo-Tokyo ( with members from both Young Dreams and The New Wine ), whom just released their first single due to [...]
It's easy to forget about reality after being on constant travels for three months, backpacking from the one remote place to the other in the amazingly photogenic southeast Asia. Kindly enough, the Norwegian Being away from the music sphere for such a long time (even though I guess three months isn't actually that long) means I obviously have a lot to catch up on, and it's probably gonna take a while before
![ELLIE GOULDING – Guns And Horses (James Rutledge / Neo Tokyo Remixes) [Polydor]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3237115_lg.jpg)
One of the very first Ellie Goulding promos that I ever received was this one - 'Guns And Horses.' (I was a bit late on her debut release 'u see!) And pretty much since then, I've been keeping tracks of Goulding's material (and to see if her PR team lives up to their own hype) for more interesting sounds and further more excuses to turn up my speaker bins to max! On 'Guns & Horses,' Neo Tokyo provides a truly cosmic remix that sharpens those extraterrestrial rhythms and hugs your ears back with lots [...]

I don't have much to say about Neo Tokyo. He's a bloke from the UK who produces mostly shitty, generic electro music. But two of his songs are particularly appealing, because they blend a catchy tune with a head-thumping beat. I think this post calls for a tirade on the electronic music world today: I haven't found one producer/DJ who is cranking out only good tracks/remixes. I think most producers aren't taking the appropriate amount of time to hone tracks- they are releasing semi-developed pieces to try and beat everyone else to the punch. As a result, quality [...]

Reset! - If We Try (the Love Anthem) (Original Mix) Reset! nos trae el primer canto sagrado (el Love Anthem ), en un tema con continuos cambios de [...]

So, kids and convicts, Kunkers will be making a so-called "Swedish Suicide Night" this Saturday at Mappa Club. It's named appropriately on the occasion of a pair of guests we're super excited to have in town. The first are a pair from Sweden, Kajsa and Kristian, who are writing for let's just say, prominent music blogs of which you are undoubtedly aware. The other guests are actually a gaggle of Suicide Girls flying in from New York, Spain, and the UK, for some debauchery and dj-ing. [...]

Latest remix from fine Welshman Neo Tokyo . Always top grade when making the remixes. This time it's of the French nowadays trio Pony Pony Run Run , who released the single "Walking On A Line" earlier this year. The band members of Pony Pony Run Run are named with only one letter to make it easy, the trio are G, A and T. Pony Pony Run Run - Walking On A Line (Neo Tokyo Remix) Two other great remixes of this track are Fabian's and Ren Riz'. Grab them [...]

This post owes a hell of a lot to Soulwax, who made it acceptable for indie kids to listen to electro/dance. Since then we've had a whole raft of remixes taking indie tracks in that direction. There's been so many that's I can't even scratch at the surface of the genre. The six vitamins I'm going to give you here are just some of my recent favorites, because there's so many good vitamins to pick from. Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes Vitamin Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes track Home [...]

I found a little surprise in my in-box this morning courtesy of the guys out in L.A. at GottaDanceDirty . This is the latest release from Doorly's upcoming EP set to be released by Crown Jewels . "The One" features reining dancehall queen Lady Chann spittin' pon one of the nastiest tracks you'll ever hear outside of the UK (or Jamaica for that matter). This type of electronic dancehall sound is quickly becoming one of my favorite sub-genres of dance music and with producers such as Toddla T and of course our [...]

Our friend Neo Tokyo from Wales has come up with a new fine remix of Chew Lips ' "Slick". The most danceable remix yet of this track. Neo Tokyo always makes great remixes, therefore he's one of our favourite remixers out there. Chew Lips - Slick (Neo Tokyo Remix) Chew Lips are a three-piece band from London producing dance pop in a great way. They've just released their debut " Unicorn ". Female singer Tig got that voice that reminds you of The Golden Filter, Roisin Murphy or [...]
