A few days ago I got an email about a band from Chicago called Netherfriends. I decided to give them a listen and was pretty impressed. If you haven't heard of them yet then take a listen. Last year I wrote a little piece up on Chicago's Netherfriends and their EP Feathers and Dots - a blend of sunshine, glockenspiels, and smiles. I never knew how prominent a role the glockenspiel has played in independent music, but apparently a significant one. I say this because every time I read in the liner notes or on a myspace page that a band uses the glockenspiel, I usually end up enjoying them quite a bit.
