After hibernating for  way too long I took a break. A break from stressing about exams, pressing deadlines and serving Exeter's drunks. Neutral Milk Hotel have announced a bunch of new US shows after announcing the some key tour dates in late April . The new shows will include Elf Power on most dates and the the touring lineup will feature Jeff Mangum , Scott Spillane, Julian Koster, and Jeremy Barnes. The band released their classic full length, In The Aeroplane Over The Sea , 15 years ago in 1998.

The recently-reformed Neutral Milk Hotel have added dates to their upcoming reunion tour. The Jeff Mangum-led band had already been scheduled to play a series of shows at the tail-end of the year, but have now confirmed a handful of additional North American outings. This will see the group tour throughout October with the likes of Elf Power, Half Japanese and Daniel Johnston, the latter two playing at  Mountain Oasis Festival in Asheville with the band. Austin City Limits has always been the odd festival out of the Big Four. Although one of North America's biggest and best music festivals, its presence within the Music Capitol of the World has led to instant sell outs long before it was cool to instantly sell out. Festival organizers have consistently catered their lineups more to the Austin demographics, putting less emphasis on big name reunions or unique gets. On the back of announcing a reunion 15 years after they broke hipster hearts around the world by disbanding, Neutral Milk Hotel has been confirmed to bring their tour Down Under for November's Harvest Festival. NMH struck gold with their Anne Frank-inspired indie classic In the Aeroplane Over the Sea , released in 1998 shortly before the band's disintegration. Two were in the tiny Athens 40 Watt Club, two were overseas, and only one was the sort of thing into which your average American ticket-buyer would have any hope of gaining entry. That's changed now. The band has extended its planned reunion tour to 16 dates (including three in Australia), with more presumably to follow. They're starting things off in a Unitarian church in Baltimore's Charles Village neighborhood, a place that throws really nice spaghetti-dinner [...]

It's true. The band that most of us gave up on ever being able to see is back and touring. Neutral Milk Hotel, who need no introduction for independent music lovers, announced last week that they would be re-uniting and playing a handful of dates. I'll be honest, I didn't expect Cincinnati to be one of the cities that the band booked a show. But lo and behold, today it was officially announced that Neutral Milk Hotel will indeed play a show in the Cincinnati area at The Madison in Covington this October. [...]

Jeff Mangum continues to build out Neutral Milk Hotel' s upcoming reunion tour . The band was already scheduled to play a pair of shows in their hometown of Athens, GA, along with an appearance at Asheville's Mountain Oasis Electronic Music Summit in late October.
