The funky, talented Nick Waterhouse played a sold out Mercury Lounge in Manhattan this past Sunday and I lucky enough to snag a spot on the list and take some photos. The Los Angeles based jazzy soul singer is getting bigger and bigger each month and deservingly so. Make sure you check him out if he's coming to your city , but for now, take a quick look at the photos I shot. Nick Waterhouse

Burger Records' sold-out event proves that a cohesive festival is possible when the people involved have shared incentives.

Photos and words by Leslie Kalohi Big props to Sean Bohrman and Lee Rickard of Burger Records for putting together Burgerama. With strong acts like Tijuana Panthers and Beach Party kicking things off, it was an easy decision for many to arrive early for Night One at The Observatory. Things were done right with 19 bands playing inside both the main room and the smaller Constellation Room, plus a BBQ outside, there was something to do/see/eat/drink at ALL times. And whether you enjoyed rock, surf, punk, hip-hop, or R&B (just to name a few of the [...]

Nick Waterhouse @ Metro in Chicago, 2/14/2013 ( more by James Richards IV ) Last year Nick Waterhouse released his debut LP, Time's All Gone , that displayed his love of vintage '60s R&B, not to mention his ability to recreate its sweaty sonics near perfectly. Nick doesn't have a whole lot on his plate right now -- he'll be at Burgerama in Santa Anna, CA on 3/22 -- but he has scheduled a show at Mercury Lounge on April 7 . [...]
When roots and R&B rocker Nick Waterhouse visited World Cafe with David Dye in November, 2012, he performed a fiery three song set. You can listen to the session and interview here. Below, download one of the songs from that session, "Sleeping Pills." This month (and this month only) World Cafe is offering free downloads ... Continue reading

With the Grammys on the horizon, there certainly wasn't a shortage of star-studded lineups for any shows on Friday night. But the Converse Rubber Tracks live event put on by Filter at the Satellite was on the top of many people's list: L.A.'s own Fool's Gold played an unbelievable set for a house that was already packed by 9 p.m.; Dev Hynes impressed L.A. again with his R&B electronica as Blood Orange (including doing some Solange and Sky Ferreira covers); and Nick Waterhouse celebrated his birthday in style with a full band to flesh [...]

Friday fun: ► The Little Ones celebrate their new album "The Dawn Sang Along," their first release since 2008, with a show at the Echo, with the Lonely Wild and Saint Sea Hat supporting. ► Trombone Shorty brings the rip-raoring sound of New Orleans to the El Rey Theatre, with Orleans Avenue and the Stone Foxes supporting. ► Big night at the Satellite, where some tickets have been released (first-come, first-served) for a Converse party featuring Nick Waterhouse , Fool's Gold , [...]

The Converse Rubber Track series will be coming to Los Angeles this week to present a pretty bad ass line up at The Satellite . This will all be taking place on Friday, February 8th at The Satellite and the best part... It's free! [...]

A Scenestar favorite is also playing an intimate show next week! We last saw him play a set at FYF Fest along with a headlining gig at El Rey Theatre, but now Nick Waterhouse has announced that he's playing a...

So whatever stupid New Year's resolution you thought you could accomplish has probably crumbled and you're smoking at it again. That's okay, because quitting things is not what you need to be up to. Like listening to music with us. You should keep doing that. Hey! I just remembered what this post was about! At the bottom of our page as always, this (next) month's Spotify playlist. And remember that if you're only a failure if people call you you believe you are a failure. CLICK THAT —–> What We Hear: February 2013 (Fuzztank.com) [...]
Long live King Ty Segall!
Nary a week goes by here at The Bay Bridged without a mention of Ty Segall. We can't help it; there's a lot to love about that guy. Here's what we love about him this week: we have in our possession two tickets to his super-special show at The Fillmore with fellow local (or sort-of-local) faves Nick Waterhouse and White Fence . Oh, yeah. We mean business with this one. All you have to do is enter to win. To enter any contest submit an email to contest[at]thebaybridged[dot]c om with your full name in [...]

Favorite Songs of 2012: Part 2 (50-1) You will have to take these list rankings with a grain of salt, because although I tried my best to accurately arrange the tracks, I change it every time I listen to one of the songs. I also only included my favorite song from each artist, so there are no doubles (except for I think one person, but they were part of two different groups). A few songs are also technically from before 2012, but they all appear on albums or [...]
