What do we know about Nicolas Jaar? He was born in New York, lived in Chile, studied comparative literature at Brown, he's the label owner of Clown & Sunset and, oh yeah , he won Radio 12s Essential Mix of the Year in 2012. So, yesterday I came across Nicolas Jaar 's DJ Set @ Boiler Room, and I had to share it with our followers. Besides the brilliant set he did, the good thing about this piece is that we have the chance to see the Chilean wunderkid playing with his "toys." Since the first moment you click play, you'll feel the need to listen the whole set. It's truly impressive to hear the progression of the story, as well as, the interaction and response from the audience. Excellent.

Of course, the vinyl sold out instantly. In usual fashion, Jaar takes his time in letting his work unfold, keeping your attention with a stream of sparse atmospheric noise. Nicolas Jaar 's collaborative 12" for Record Store Day sold insanely fast, and rightfully so. The release saw Jaar collaborating with Grizzly Bear and Brian Eno. But it's when you listen to Jaar's remix of Grizzly Bear 's "Sleeping Ute" that you fully understand. The remix is intricate, subtle in its execution and simply memserizing. As always, Jaar delivers.
