Swedish purveyor of all things ElectroPop and Disco Johan Agebjörn 's 'Casablanca Nights' album was one of our top records of last year, a series of collaboration with some of the best electronic artists and SynthPop singers in the world and some cracking songs. Now two of those cracking songs are getting repackaged in some new and interesting ways. First up, 'Watch The World Go By ' is finally seeing the release of it's reMix package. We've been waiting for it for a while since it was originally going to be released under the name Plexi [...]
Swedish electropop artist Friday Bridge has a new single collaboration with Nicolas Makelberge , now available for free download.

Friday Bridge are a Sweedish SynthPop duo that mix in a little Baroque in to their Pop, they've been around for about half a decade but I know them from their team-up with Johan Agebjörn on his 'Casablanca Nights' album. I can actually find very little information about them ,and even less about their newest collaborative partner Nicolas Makelberge . I can only assume it's because they are actually deep cover government operatives with some hidden agenda who are only masquerading as makers of awesome ElectroPop. So that their cover isn't blown, lets just play along [...]

March was a bit of a tease. Some days in the 70s, others in the 30s... we are clearly at the border of two seasons. As we prepare for the big spring/summer releases, it is no crime to look to the past for instances of greatness. After all, two artists this month - Nicolas Makelberge [...]
We're back again with everyone's favorite music blog aggregator search engine music discovery game, hypem hunting! In case you haven't been paying attention, we pick a word, search for it on The Hype Machine, and then listen to a bunch of songs that we've never heard before that appear in the search results and then bring you our favorites that we discovered. This week, we once again turned to the twitter for some motivation on the word to search for, and our friend and fellow PCCer Kyle, partial proprietor of PCC blog Those Who Dig , was [...]
Holy cow! Can you believe this is already the 10th edition of Hypem Hunting? That's pretty awesome, mostly because I usually give up on things pretty easily. It's a lot of work to keep this segment up and running, but it's one of my favorites so I'm happy to do it each week (usually taking place on Sunday night...a nice way to end the weekend). This week's word is "clean" chosen by friend and twitterer KyleWhoDigs , who also happens to be the proprietor of ThoseWhoDig , and as someone who frequently mentions digging variousread [...]
This site aims to emphasize newer releases, many of which have not been released yet. Several times though, I feel an artist is so criminally under-exposed and relevant to today's scene that a feature just begs to come out. One of 20102s most talked-about albums was Twin Shadow's Forget, a wonderful hybrid of post-punk and [...]

Probably unheard of outside her native Romania, diva extraordinaire Loredana has recently been thrown into the hands of fellow Romanian Vlad Stoian - the founder of the Warmer Climes blog - for a mammouth remix orgy of the highest order. Her latest single 'Rain Rain' has been re-worked in the region of 50 times by various bands and production outfits. Most notably; Henning Fürst from Gothenburg pop royalty The Tough Alliance ( available now via Pitchfork ) and Stephen Ramsay of Young Galaxy whose brand new Dan Lissvik produced single was revealed here yesterday. [...]
We get a lot of emails, and we mean a lot. We get emails from record labels, PR agencies, established artists and new artists with music. Beside this we receive emails from fans and friends. We try to read all emails, but that's actually impossible even if you were Quick Man himself. Sometimes we just have to make posts like this, so you guys don't miss out on a bunch of tracks that are good. Tracasseur and Quick Man says "Enjoy!" Bloc Party - Signs (MMMatthias Remix) [...]

Image courtesy of YlvaLindberg.com . Today, Paper Bag Records celebrates its Sweet 7 in the industry (as a certain bunch of 'Babes might say) with the release of a free cover album , featuring many of its recording artists. Along , the e-mixtape includes Sally Shapiro 's "Crying in Africa." Yep-it's a cover! "Crying in Africa" was originally recorded by Nicolas Makelberge , a Swedish synth-pop artist. As far as I can tell, he's only released one album- Crying in Africa , back in August of 2006. If [...]

The new Sally Shapiro album "My Guilty Pleasure" is now released. Go and get your hands on a beautiful copy of it via Paperbag Records, either in the PBR Shop or in the PBR Digital Shop . We've already posted the great songs "Love In July" and "Miracle" from the new album before . Now to celebrate the release of the album we give you this cover of Nicolas Makelberge's "Dying In Africa". The original tune is a fine one from 2006 and named same as the album " Dying In Africa [...]

Sally Shapiro - Dying In Africa [ mp3 ] Sally covered the classic hit by the mysterious Nicolas Makelberge it got even dreamier than it was [via Stereogum ]

The first time I heard today's song I immediately thought of about a dozen 80's movie soundtracks where this song could easily have been lifted. That might sound like a potshot, but I gotta tell you, this song is extremely infectious and it sounds more like its from the 80's than some of the songs recorded then. All talk of song lineage aside, it is without a doubt one of the most danceable songs I have posted on this blog for sure. But its a good one. A very good one and I can't get enough of it. [...]
Nicolas Makelberge - Dying In Africa ( MYSPACE ) Blowing my mind right now. This song sounds like Peter Gabriel fronting the Junior Boys, assuming the Junior Boys were operating in the late 80's with a more carefree, less moody aesthetic. I doubt Peter Gabriel would use the same visuals to express his undying love (the strength of amor weighing heavier on one's mind than famine), but in all seriousness this track is on repeat for the next 4 hours. Deal with it. Oh, look at that! [...]
Billy Joel, "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant" Guillemots, "Annie, Let's Not Wait" Talk all the shit about Billy Joel that you want to - go on, I'll even give you a minute to terraform your contempt to your liking - but the simple fact of the matter is that you're about as likely to talk my copy of The Stranger or 52nd Street or An Innocent Man out of my CD collection as you are to talk a baby out of its mother's loving [...]
