This show has been steadily approaching for months like a bullet train through the chunnel, a glaring white light relentlessly speeding at us, closer and closer and you get the picture. Act for act, song for song, this is easily the best live bill you will see in Boston this spring, and it would seem Autochrome , which celebrates the release of its full-length debut Friday night, has used the same precision in selecting the support slots that serves it so well in crafting its alluring blend of Chameleons UK 's brand of '80s darkwave and modern, [...]

After reaping substantial acclaim for its entrancing 2011 collection Secret Wild [ review here ], Guillermo Sexo hasn't been standing idly by counting red cars or pulling hair out of its collective hair brushes or obsessively rearranging the juice glasses in its cabinet. Actually, we can't confirm they haven't been doing these things. But what we can tell you is Guillermo Sexo -- possibly in addition to all of the above -- has been turning heads with a steady stream of area live shows. Your next chance to see the quartet is thankfully close [...]

Facebook / nightfruit.bandcamp.com/ I mentioned the debut EP by Cambridge, MA trio Night Fruit way back in September 2010 and now over a year later they have released the follow up 'Dark Horse', a three track 7" which came out in early December, recorded and mixed by the band themselves it should firmly introduce them as ones to follow... At almost six minutes the lead, title track "Dark Horse" is a gorgeous blend of shoegaze and dream pop with swirling, shimmering guitar melodies that rise and fall, driving drum rhythms [...]

The local Internerds are aglow today with talk about Boston dream-pop trio Night Fruit 's new single and the release show for it tomorrow night at Great Scott . The buzz is deserved, as the carefully sculpted and beautiful "Dark Horse" is an arresting piece of work. Spiraling and shimmering guitars and big vocal melodies from fronter Amanda Dellevigne make for a winning concoction of blissed, upbeat pop that gracefully decomposes in the song's final minute. A sure sign that the band is firing on all cylinders right now is that the B-sides are equally delicious, even if [...]
Guillermo Sexo graciously engineered a dream bill of local acts for its record release show last night at Precinct in Somerville, but the crowd was certainly at its densest for the main event when the Boston-based quartet commenced its set after midnight. Being feted was the band's fourth full-length Secret Wild , an entrancing nine-song set that crackles with energy while charting middle ground between heavy atmospheric shoegaze (put on your good headphones and listen to the album closer "Industry" embedded below several times and see if it doesn't somehow change you) and Led Zeppelin -styled English [...]
