Part Two of the Father Abraham " Listen To This " and a chance to redeem myself with two musical selections following his underwhelming response to the magnificence of Afrobear. I would protest that PolarBear wasnt really moaning about the hardships of making music, but more the humour of getting recognised while still struggling. Elsewhere Abraham's selections had me imagining I could cut it on the dancefloor in tight white pants, while his second choice reminded me of my utter failure with girls in my teens (a sentence with three more words than necessary if ever there [...]

" Listen To This " is back after a well earned nap with another special guest contributor revelling in the role of showing me the MP3 blogger up as a musically illiterate half-wit. 2009 has been a year of mixed fortunes for Father Abraham. On the one hand he's recently joined the ranks of the non-bailed out unemployed so he's rapping about his Ford Taurus one week and having to sell it the next. So far so fed up, but on the plus side he's in the creative form of his life. [...]

I don't think I've ever heard a bad track concerning BBQs and UK Hip Hop group Nine High take things a few step further - it's basically a song about the joys of being a carnivore. Chicken, Steak, Lamb all get a look in on this track produced by Australia's most excellent M-Phazes. "I'd watch out if you're a beef stew, because if I meet you, I'm gonna eat you" - goofy but great! If you've forgotten who Nine High are then click here to check my previous posting about [...]

We've done several of these 'clearing out the inbox' type posts in the past in varying formats. This time we're going to shake it up once again and give you 7 mp3's in 7 sentences (not counting these 2 of course). 1. The best of the bunch comes from UK hip-hop outfit Nine High, who deliver the most bangin' track about food we've heard in some time, set to a beat that takes us back somewhere between Biz Markie and Quality Control-era Jurassic 5. MP3: Nine High - Cookout (M-Phazes Remix) [...]

UK outfit Nine High have given up a little treat for you: Cookout, produced by Australia's talented M-Phazes. The weather's proper wanky right now, and I'm not sure this will be the soundtrack to your own cookout this year. Maybe in 2010... I haven't heard much of M-Phazes' music, but the joint he did for Micall Parknsun, All 4 Hip Hop , is fuego and I can't wait to hear more. For now: Nine High - Cookout (M-Phazes remix)
Fugs need hugs too! This is a single off a self-titled album set to drop on June 6th. Long ass day today, so I'll leave it at that. Nine High - Fugs Need Hugs Myspace
Check out the heavy and almost militant new single from the UK's Nine High (although two of them now live in Oz) which is produced by Aussie producer of the moment M-Phazes (who's worked with Pharoahe Monch, Royce Da 5' 9" and Micall Parknsun). The guys kinda sum up UK (and probably Australian) Hip Hop on this track, but not in an obvious way. Their self titled album will be released on 6th June on Taos Records .
