Chairlift is one of those bands that you've probably heard a bunch of times before but you could never name if you were asked to. They've been around the block since 2005 and done almost everything. Ramona Gonzalez started making cold electronic music as Nite Jewel when she was studying philosophy at California's Occidental College in 2008. Despite releasing an impressive series of EPs since then, she's just getting around to her debut full-length One Second of Love , which will drop March 6. Check out the title track in the meantime – it's got an absolutely killer beat, all undulating, percolating bass and methodical, clean percussion, presided over by Gonzalez's simple, sexy voice and chilly synth wails.
