Here's an overdose of some tunes we've been listening to. Let me know what ya'll think in the comment section. DO IT. Our boys No Gold just released a new single... you could call it Junior Boys meets Justice on a downer. No Gold - Good & Bad Priory is a band we've been enjoying for a while now... weather or not they have two one hit wonders is still up for debate. Check out their self titled EP here . Priory - Lady [...]

Vancouver sound-adventurers No Gold have let-go the delicate new dub-fused jam "Good and Bad" - just premiered on Fader. With haunting organs, thuddy bass and Whomadewho-esque vocals, the band step away from the previous tropi-cool vibes and down a more austere route. Jack had already mentioned the possibility of the sound-change mid last year so its exciting to see the fruition and execution! No Gold, "Good and Bad" by The FADER

Pretty much all of I've heard from the No Gold dudes since the release of last year's self-titled LP is their clubby DJ sets around town. For the newly-released "Good and Bad," however, they don't stray too far from the freewheeling experimental pop that made last year's album such a winner. Sure, there are more electronics than before, but the summery spirit is the same. Nice one, guys. This comes courtesy of The Fader .

Omgigosh, 2011 is almost done. This is the music that got me through. Here's our best album / ep picks!!! 25. Radiohead - King Of Limbs Radiohead surprised fans with a new album in February announcing it five days before it's release with out any press following it because they don't need to. Radiohead - Morning Mr Magpie 24.Lil B "Based God" - I'm Gay [...]

Love Dancing (Jordan Matt and Chris Wang) who put on some of the best "posi vibe" underground house nights in the city have done us all a favor and made a mix of all local Vancouver songs and edits entitled Mood Hut. If you like it deep and minimal give this a spin. Mood Hut Mix 001 by Mood Hut Junior B - Whobe Shy Vibes - Lordy No Gold - Mood Hut (Max Ulis Remix) Ian Wyatt - B Real [...]

It's time to listen to a bunch of the tracks I have not posted recently. These are just a few of the songs that would get their own individual posts here on GIMME TINNITUS if I only had the time. Here is the next NOT POSTED mix. Listen. Downloadables: Runaway (Kanye West cover) (mp3) by Parts & Labor Beluga (mp3) by Milk Music [d/l Live at WFMU on Brian Turner's Show on July 5, [...]
No Gold are arguably one of the best Vancouver indie acts BUT, we STILL haven't put on a show with them despite our best efforts. Maybe they are just too busy making amazing music? I still love them. Maybe one day... #dreams Their self titled new album on Unfamiliar is a gem and definitely worth purchasing on the vinyl long player. They have a new video directed by Peter Hagge that features them on the roof of their Chinatown studio in Vancouver, in May. [...]
Is it possible to present complex simplicity as methodical style choice for music? For Vancouver's No Gold, I kept on searching for the correct words on how to describe their sound, but the thought that kept running through my head was focused on how many elements come together to make their music when the overall...
It's spring, and time for the Sounds of Spring mixtape for this week's Sunday 25 Mix. We spent some time picking the songs for this mix that consists of mostly indie, but some classic rock as well. The penultimate digest and we're in determined mood today. Mp32s fell like an hour long compilation of Ronaldo dives. From the slaughter these 5 magic Messi moments emerged triumphantly. ~~~ Wild instrumental forays with a suspiciously melodic heart. by teepoo It's been a weird week for me with the site moving and the stupid WordPress upgrade messing everything up. Stressful. Almost killed the site like twice. I thought this song was wildly appropriate. The track comes off No Gold's self-titled debut. The Vancouver trio's pretty funky and weird itself. But now I'm going to go listen to this and escape to a tropical island. I need a vacation after today's almost-heart-attack. No Gold- Weird Week MYSPACE | WEBSITE [...]
All I have to say is this - I hope this week is a bit more streamlined than the massive traffic jam that last week was. Let's hope for some good ole peaceful days and nights, shall we?... [go to the website to read the rest of the article, download mp3s and more]

No Gold, another talented band from Vancouver , are dr0pping their latest on February 22nd on Unfamiliar Records. Rainforts has the kind of slow-build indie rock 'n roll feel that is not unlike King Charles . They'll be showcasing their sound at SXSW this year and should be an exciting band to watch in the upcoming year. Rainforts - No Gold

The tradition is as old as time. Winter retreats from the torrents of snow and penetrating winds to the sanctity of sunnier climates, warming breezes and the chance to move even a few steps slower. Not surprisingly, around February and March, my musical preferences get the same wanderlust and after yesterday's record snowfall, the long overdue awaited debut from Vancouver's No Gold is the perfect escape. The self-titled LP - out Feb. 22nd on Unfamiliar - is a collection of snapshots; moments in time that define the band. [...]
