MTV caught No I.D. on the red carpet of the ASCAP Awards, and grilled him about the upcoming Cruel Summer project, as well as Ye's next solo album. Mums the word, but he did promise that it's coming directly after the release of the G.O.O.D. comp. Hopefully we'll get it by the end of the year. “He’s coming right after that. I’m not working on that [Cruel Summer] album, I’m working on his album. This is Kanye. You know what to expect from the family. He hasn’t missed yet, so don’t expect him to [...]
London's Idjut Boys (a.k.a. Daniel Tyler and Conrad McConnell) have been deep in the mix for nearly two decades, throwing parties at venues like The Cross and beyond, and running their U-Star and Noid labels. While they've been producing and remixing tracks for ages, they've just gotten around to producing their debut album, Cellar Door, [...]

"Loco-Motive" may be something like the hundredth leak that's dropped in advance of Nas ' newest effort Life Is Good (due July 17th), but, like everything that has been previewed from the set so far, the record continues to find the rapper sounding like he's on the verge of dropping a "five mic" killer. Boasting credits that include No I.D. on production and Large Professor as hook hype-man, and finding Nasir effortlessly slinging evocative lyrical illustrations of his hard knock New York come-up that make descriptions of chowing down [...]

We have heard a bunch of tracks off the upcoming Nas record, Life is Good , but today sees the record’s best release to date in “Loco-Motive”. Over a grim piano-laden beat by No ID, Nasir gets his angry face on and just rhymes and rhymes and rhymes. He closes by stating “for my trapped in the 90’s niggas”, which possibly could please the fans of his Illmatic days. I really love everything about this, besides the 42nd Street terminal shout out. That place just sucks. Life is Good will [...]

Nas and fellow Queens emcee Large Professor have joined forces for "Loco-Motive", the fourth track to surface off the former's forthcoming Life Is Good . With No I.D. providing a heavy-handed piano sample, Nas' rhymes move away from the narratives of "Daughters" and "Accident Murders" toward straight illin' wordplay ("Rap Jack Dempsey/Matte black Bentley/Pimply/Shattering your salads/Pass around your chalice"). Well this is an all-star lineup if I've ever seen one. Nas grabs Large Professor for "Loco-Motive" which is produced by the legendary No I.D. These three artists single-handedly defined Hip-Hop in 1994 with their work on Illmatic and Common's Resurrection , and it is only right Nas ends the song by repeating "This is for trapped in the 902s n***as". This is for yall. Nas's Life is Good LP is due July 17th.

The leaks from Nas' impending LP Life As Good are coming thick and fast. That can only mean one thing; we're under a month and counting until what is easily my most anticipated hip hop album of this year hits the shelves. Actually, on second thoughts, it more likely means that it's under two weeks until some underling leaks Life Is Good in its entirety. Either way, Nasir's latest opus is going to be a goodie, as the latest leaky-leak shows and proves. 'Accidental [...]
