I'm starting to think, like disco, I post too much Luminaire. I've pretty much posted everything he's released this year, something I rarely do. But Luminaire seems to get it right every time and I just can't help but associate myself to it any chance I get. 'No More' is well over a year old, but I wasn't familiar with it back then. Luminaire, however, recently updated the track as a redux and it feels a bit more complete, smoothing out the rough edges. Although, the original does get to the good stuff quicker. Over the weekend Nico Giarrano, the artist behind the dreamy bedroom pop of Places , released a new record called The Future , which at first listen sounds like anything but. Steeped in the gauzy haze of billowing synths, scattered percussion and vocals blown-out to the point of obscurity, the 11-song record swims through the rippled currents of an impressionistic '80s reverie that's warm and beguiling. Last night something exciting happened. Queen of Hearts made her live debut in London and it was very good. That's all a new artist at her own showcase can hope for, surely?
