After this & Coyote Kisses remix of Perry , I really can't say I dislike her voice all that much, although her persona is a whole 'nother story. I guess these electro, dubstep remixes bring out the beauty in her voice and leave all the other shit to the wayside. No Pets' remix of "Part of Me" may not beat out the Coyote Kisses remix quite yet, but it's still some healthy electro-dubstep that doesn't over accentuate the drops and leaves the smooth bass to speak for itself. Emerging SoundCloud stationed mashup artist No Pets Allowed dropped a new track this past week. The best work here is done with the Rihanna sampling: The "No Beef" interlude matches smoothly and the Skrillex action intensifies the emotional quality of . The Katy Perry stuff, however, sounds out of place, shoved in almost. The track conveys a gloominess at all other times , so including the bubblegum pop sex star's account of the previous week's debauchery startles the mood. Meh. I think I've found the inspiration for Kap Slap's excellent mega-mashup "E.T. Feels Starry Eyed:" this track, "Starry Eyed Extra-Terrestrial" by No Pets Allowed. Both tracks are worth it on their own - the Kap Slap one got me more into mashups than maybe any other I'd previously experienced, but credit is due where credit is due. NPA had the idea first. No Pets remix of "Marijuana" puts more mary to the jane with some high-pitched synths and a thunder-rumbling bass.
