After three days and insane Fun Fun Fun Fest 'Nites, I wholeheartedly believe that Fun Fun Fun Fest is the best music festival in Austin. California's Nobunny has been at it for several years, and is filthy bit of garage rock is precisely what you'll get if you visit his set over at the Black Stage. His most recent record, First Blood , is a lot more polished then his last outing, which gives his song a lot more power, in so far as you can definitely find yourself immersed in the melody and the music, rather than just his antics. This past winter, the vinyl and cassette connoisseurs over at Burger Records pressed Nobunny's Raw Romance —a cassette-only release from back in 2009— to vinyl with new (and awesome) artwork and freshly re-mastered tracks. Below, check out one of my favorite cuts off the LP—the bluesy acoustic fuzzball and album-closer "Vicious Circle." I'm not sure where the audio clip is culled from that's spliced into the end of the track, but man, it's pretty hilarious. "I'm shaking with hunger. No more!" When Girls released their new album Father, Son, Holy Ghost earlier this month I was on the fence. I was somewhat of a fan of the band's previous output, but wouldn't consider myself a full-fledged true believer. That changed whenever the album hit the internet.
