SCNTST is probably one of the most fascinating producers out there right now. The 17 year old German prodigy on Boys Noize's label seems to switch up his style on every new remix or original that he puts out, all the while retaining a really high level of production quality. This remix is almost like some relaxing trip hop, which is definitely a switch up from his typical techno-inspired sound.

Yesterday I was listening to the newest Noir Recommends and his 120 min set opened with "Tough Love (Aril Brikha remix)" by Sailor and I . Immediately I was enthralled with the track. The vocals resonate with a sweet sorrow, and both the Aril Brikha remix and the original track are excellent. The duo hails from Sweden and are set to release their EP in the upcoming months. I'm looking forward to see what else this duo has in store.

This new wave of "nu-deep" that Maceo Plex seems to have kicked off has yielded a ton of great tracks with this kind of sound. One of the big names right now is Noir and, along with his label of the same moniker, he has been pushing some great tunes forward. This upcoming one entltled "My Lover" is his collaboration with heavy-hitters Audiojack and Ruede Hagelstein . Amazingly powerful bass is the name of the game here. This will be out May 14th [...]

Time for a tale of hype, delivery and a dickhead. The hype was all for Arthur Beatrice , a London fourpiece band who had Guardian.co.uk rave reviews, sell-out shows and Metronomy-supporting tour s all well before a single full recording was available to the plain old public - that's you and me, dear listener. The delivery came when that first full tune did emerge - Midland - the first song down there. It's majestic and multi-faceted: a triumphant, fulsome pop song tailormade for heady summer evenings. And the dickhead ? [...]
Samuel L. Jackson plays an aging grifter trying to go on the straight-and-narrow, but who is inevitably pulled into one last job in David Weaver's con man thriller. Con man movies tend to go either way and even though you know there will be plenty of obvious twist and turns, the best ones always have a protagonist with one more trick up their sleeve where you know the trick is coming but you don't see it. Make no mistake - a great con man movie is a difficult cinematic trick to pull off. Here's hoping The [...]

Tiefschwarz' take on Noir & Richard Davis' "Found Out", out now on Noir Music. One of two remixes, Deetron also takes it in an interesting, more tech-oriented direction that is equally pleasurable.

Blue Sky Black Death. The name may sound dark (or emo) to some, but for your own sake don't judge too quickly. Made up of producers Kingston and Young God, this duo has been spitting out hip-hop instrumentals since 2003. In 2011, BSBD released "NOIR," which, after months of debate and inner turmoil, I have decided is the best album of 2011. BEST you say? YES. From beginning to end your ears are graced with everything from southern guitar solos to choir samples, all paired with clean, familiar hip-hop style beats. Not enough people know about BSBD, but their production [...]

Peep the dude's KYC Reppa from New Mexico. I really was diggin on the simplistic production Sam from the group KYC Reppa provided.CS Rucker flows over it nicely; you know the sweats can't get enough of those l0-fi hits. Stay tuned, there will be an EP sometime in the next month titled Noir, should be bomb if it's anything like this. KYC Reppa - The Human Ones | Mediafire [mp3]

DEARJOSEPH 's fabulous, fraught songs paint a gloomy urban landscape of bricked-up pubs, light-less alleys, peeling brothels and shadows under mangy railway arches; strife and life. Theirs is an agonised rock - sometimes fragile, sometimes noise-drenched - and a tightly-wrapped muddle: vocals under guitars, guitars deluged by drums, everything allied with everything else, the general effect of a dense musical ball you could spend futile hours trying to unpack. There's something very London about this murky impenetrability, and in the way which the guardedness only makes you more interested, only makes them more interest ing . [...]

This time Noir teamed up with Berlin-based Richard Davis for his beautiful vocal work and the result are just as emotional, heartfelt and dark . Noir got interested in electronic music at the early age of 6-7 years old when he was introduced to some of Kraftwerk's early 80s work. Being electronically influenced at that [...]

This Saturday sees LA's Culprit Records head honchos Droog go up British partner in crime Inxec in a special back to back set at one of our favourite London warehouse parties, Potty Mouth. Completing the bill is Danish deep house master Noir and rising Polish stars Catz N Dogz and We Are Not A Rockband's very own Hazmat; giving what must surely be the most hotly anticipated international lineup across the capital this weekend. And if just the mere thought of it all wasn't enough to whet your appetite, Droog have only gone [...]
It's been a slow week here on radio Bright & Shiny, but no worries, we're back here in full effect with good tunes, sunny vibes and a megapost of epic proportions. I say sunny vibes cause it's a beautiful day here in southern california and all I can find myself listening to is appropriately chilled down music. It is thursday, though, so mixed in with the chill is some measured insanity to aid
