One more quick hit to round out your Friday, and then it's back to regularly-scheduled, regularly-timed posts for next week, I promise. Vancouver-by-way-of Toronto songstress Adaline recently dropped a highly-stylized, electric new video for her standout track "The Noise." If you haven't already, spend sometime with her Modern Romantics LP, which I quickly fell in love with after it came out last November on Vancouver's Light Organ Records . +MP3: Adaline - The Noise [...]

Went to this show at Club Saw on January 19, 2012. No, I didn't go to see Anamanaguchi play. I was hoping to see Toronto's Moon King (Ex-Spiral Beach members) play their first Ottawa show. Unfortunelay they couldn't make it due to the weather from driving up to Toronto. I was kind of bummed out. So I caught abit of this act called Extreme Animals . They were from USA (forgot where exactly). Their music is [...]
Young Fathers' debut tape, Tape One , is as pretty fun, freaky, and lo-fi mix of hip hop. African music, and reggae. Though the release is only 20 minutes long, these tracks make up for it with lots of personality and catchy hooks. WATCH THE REVIEW
Instead of coming home from work and immediately turning on the television, something I'm...
The Reign of Terror is nearly upon us. This is the second track we've heard from the noise pop duo and apparently Derek Miller's favorite from the album. This song is immediately available digitally for all those that preorder the record.

Check out the second single from Sleigh Bells . Comeback Kid is taken from the upcoming album "Reign Of Terror" So what you think of it?
TAPE ONE by Young Fathers For a group that states "nothing is original" in its first music video, Young Fathers certainly is, well, original. Of course I know the point the UK trio-uh, I think it's a trio-is trying to make. Still, the blend of hip hop, African music, lo-fi, noise, and electronics the group brings together feels really fresh-not to mention each member showcases some pretty great flows and lyrics. Check out the group's video for the track "Rumbling" below, and stream Tape One above. It's downloadable here , too. [...]
A track from the forthcoming Gonjasufi "mini-album," MU.ZZ.LE. right here. The track is "Feedin' Birds," and the music on this one repeats as lost vocals wander aimlessly through a psychedelic lo-fi recording. I feel like this song has a style similar to Sufi's previous LP, A Sufi And A Killer , but I'd be lying if I said I was in love with it. The sounds are pretty mysterious and odd; I'd even go far enough to say this track captures the feel of being lost in a desert, which is something I loved about [...]
Pop. 1280 - Bodies in the Dunes by sacredbones The horror! The horror! Pop. 1280 is a New York band that blends dark, moody post-punk vibes with plenty of guitar noise. They've got a new album titled the Horror on the way from Sacred Bones . Look for it on January 24th, and enjoy the track "Bodies in the Dunes" above.

Three reasons to forget about playing Sims Social for 10 hours straight by taking in a free show at Panchos tonight.... 1. I like my indie rockers like I like my kiwi fruit, fuzzed up and plenty quirky. And while that analogy may have been lame, Chicago's House Sounds are not. The band plays smart, jangly indie rock with just a twinge of noisy surf-rock. It's outta sight. LISTEN: " The 1860s " 2. Middle children never get enough attention. Chicago's [...]

A continuación el nuevo video de los neoyorquinos A Place to Bury Strangers titulado "So Far Away", de su próximo EP "Onwards To The Wall".

Canadian songstress Adaline drops a new vid for her nice synth pop tune "The Noise". Volume turnt up. Adaline - The Noise Adaline ( Facebook ) Rating 8.1

The highly talented and creative Japanese born vocalist/(Dada) visual artist, Yamatsuka Eye , is down for the Sugar Mountain Festival in Melbourne and also for this years Sydney Festival . He is most known for founding the experimental rock band Boredoms in early 1986, a progression from noise band Hanatarash created by Eye, Zeni Geva and Mitsuru Tabata in 1984. Apart from Boredoms and Hanatarash, Eye has many alias and has used numerous other pseudonyms. Eye is a member of UFO or Die, Puzzle Punks, Noise Ramones and Destroy 2. Eye has also made [...]

THEE SOURCE OV FAWNATION "I MISSED YOU BLACK DIAMOND" cassette by HEALING LIGHT Back in November of 2011, I blogged about a track from the forthcoming Thee Source of Fawnation release, I Missed You Black Diamond . It was an eerie, and groove-laden piece of experimental drone music. Well, now you can hear the entire Source of Fawnation debut in its glory via Bandcamp . If you like your music to have a dark, ritualistic flavor to it, this is a must.
