It's hard to tell sometimes if David Letterman is actually being earnest, but regardless, he's superb at giving glowing endorsements. "We love having this woman on the program," Letterman stated, while holding up Norah Jones ' latest LP, Little Broken Hearts . "She is a nine time Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter. Nine times! I haven't won anything." Shortly after, Jones cheered up the late night host by performing a rather buoyant cut of "Happy Pills". We'll go ahead and say he's a true fan, especially given the way he joked around with the singer after the [...]
Nine-time Grammy award she-winner, the NORAH JONES , took to the David Letterman show last PM to rock on with her new single, HAPPY PILLS .

Here are tonight's notable performers: The Late Show With David Letterman (CBS): Norah Jones MAGNET cover star Norah Jones is plugging her brand new album Little Broken Hearts. The Tonight Show With Jay Leno (NBC): K'naan Featuring Nelly Furtado Rapper K'naan is performing [...]

"Little Broken Hearts hops from the maverick caravel onto the port-bound steamer." Norah Jones - Little Broken Hearts (2012) 5.5/10 Blue Note/EMI If like me, you feel that Come Away With Me was one of those set in the stone of my musical memory albums, you'll be quite surprise by Norah Jones' 5th album – "Little Broken Hearts". Although she had already moved from the minimalistic suave jazz instrumentals and patterns of her debut with 2009's "The Fall" – the Chasing Pirates video epitomizes her creating a much more specific [...]

We're going to let Norah Jones take a bow today as the most anticipated new album today -- and with good reason. Little Broken Hearts , her very different, very interesting collaboration with Brian "Danger Mouse" Burton puts her in a whole new light. Also on tap are three albums that we think are among the best releases of the year: the excellent and quite adventurous art-pop from Norway's Ane Brun , the fine Crown and Treaty from DC faves Sweet Billy Pilgrim (U.K. only) and the latest from Montreal's brilliant [...]

Listen to Norah Jones' new album in its entirety at NPR . My favorite is "Good Morning". It's sweetly acerbic. I'm also quite fond of "Happy Pills". Website Facebook
Norah Jones' latest studio album sees her jumping off some small metaphorical cliffs, which is pretty significant... for her. When Norah Jones was first unleashed onto the world, we were given every indication that her career would take a similar path of so many other "lite" female singer/songwriters (i.e. Sarah McLachlan, Jewel, and Tori Amos). Right from the get-go Jones was a smooth jazzy scene-stealer, musing through oversimplified sentiments of lovelorn and seemingly bad decisions that she really didn't regret (as is the case in "Don't Know Why" from her album Come Away with...

We can expect a lot of hype surrounding B.o.B 's Strange Clouds this week. Will the rapper successfully sail past the sophomore slump? Little Broken Hearts from Norah Jones is sure to be the talk of the town as well. But, of course, that's not the only record on our radar. The Spinto Band 's Shy Pursuit is another interesting album--the band have chosen to release it on their own Spintonic label. Pieces from Charlene Kaye 's Animal Love have sounded very impressive, and Carina Round [...]

"The moments in which Jones chooses to withdraw back to the shade of the evening shine brightest here..." Norah Jones | Little Broken Hearts 2009's The Fall was an important album for Norah Jones. Moving her on from the country-tinged acoustic balladeer that she had painted herself as across Come Away With Me , Feels Like Home and Not Too Late , it saw her experimenting with vintage instrumentation, darker tones and new collaborators; Jacquire King – whose CV includes Kings of Leon, Modest Mouse and Tom Waits [...]

Why do the two surviving members of TLC want to tour with a Left Eye hologram? I loved TLC as much as the next massive TLC fan back in the '90s and early '00s, but I never thought the trio needed to end after the 2002 death of original member Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, and Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozanda "Chilli" Thomas certainly didn't need to search for a replacement on the ill-advised UPN reality show R U The Girl . After all, TLC was not exactly INXS, a band that, though comprised of ace musicians, soared on [...]
Following up her performance of " Happy Pills " earlier in the Week, Norah Jones was back on form for the second broadcast of Later... with Jools Holland last night. She performed two tracks from her new LP ...Little Broken Hearts , the title track and "Say Goodbye". The former can be watched at the top with "Say Goodbye", a brief chat and a cover of Kris Kristofferson's "For the Good Times" with Jools after the jump.

Later... with Jools Holland was back on the air Friday night with a second set of performances by Jack White , Norah Jones , and Alabama Shakes . (Here's the first set if you missed it.) White tackled the Blunderbuss track "Hip (Eponymous) Poor Boy" with the ladies, ripped through The White Stripes' classic "Ball and Biscuit" with the fellas, and shared a few words with Jools. Jones showcased her new LP Little Broken Heart with performances of its title track and "Say Goodbye", plus teamed up with Jools [...]
Danger Mouse and Norah Jones first worked together on his 2011 Rome, the faux-soundtrack to a nonexistent spaghetti western co-written by Daniele Luppi. Norah Jones's soulful crooning sounded great over the vintage Italian western sound (re)created by Danger Mouse on Rome . On her upcoming release, Little Broken Hearts , Jones takes charge, singing songs she's written in the wake of a recent breakup. The lyrics cover dark experiences, but the album never sounds depressing. While she may be at her poppiest, this record is not bubblegum in anyway. Jones still has the beautiful voice that first won [...]
