Normally, saying that an album is never able to fully settle into itself would be a criticism, but in the case of Fog Electric , this is a compliment. On first listen, the first thing that struck me was how complicated this album is. The album I'm referring to Fog Electric by North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO for short), a mammoth 10 track meaty offering due for release via the Kscope imprint (home to my favorite band The Pineapple Thief). According to Wikipedia "The North Atlantic oscillation (NAO) is a climatic phenomenon in the North Atlantic Ocean of fluctuations in the difference of atmospheric pressure at sea." I assume the choice of band name was inspired by this climatology based term, as this remix of 'First-Rate Pretender' is a pulsating beast, full of cold sounding waves and drops that seem to rise and full throughout this 3 minute jam.
