I’m still pissed about that cancellation . I know grumping and whining in a blog isn’t comme il faut, but I just can’t help myself! Instead Mushi will be playing at another venue in Helsingoer , so perhaps I should try that one instead? + The Nightcrawler Remember Danish shoegazers Dorias Baracca that I featured last year? 3 new tracks and 1 (what I believe must be a) re-recording is now streaming at Myspace . Plans [...]

For the next two hours (10 a.m. CET - 12 a.m. CET) I'll be chit chatting with myself and post whatever interesting I stumble upon. If I stumble upon anything interesting that is! Last week (May 12) Matinée Recordings promised to post previews from the forthcoming album by Northern Portrait and The Electric Pop Group within the next seven days. Not that I'm going to act like an impatient brat or anything, but guys; that was 10 days ago! Will you [...]
3 more videos from last week's concert at Gramophone, London . Shot by Mat Durrance from The Candy Twins and once again thanks to J.A. for the heads up!
The San Francisco Popfest starts today (imaginary Keenan is already headed south to get there in time for tonight's shows)!!! The 'fest runs though Sunday, May 24, 2009 and Keenan, amazing imaginary photographer Steve Louie and I will be running around the greater San Francisco area basking in all that fine fine indie-pop. We're looking forward to most all the bands (ballboy ballboy ballboy), but we put together a podcast of some of the lesser known ones and ones with hit songs we've been listening to on repeat (ahem: Stay Flyin'). You should go [...]

The hills are alive with the sound of music. Which hills, you ask? The steep rolling hills of San Francisco will be hosting the San Francisco Popfest 2009 starting tonight and running until Sunday. What kind of music? Nothing but good, clean indie pop. Busy with last minute preparations, I interrupted Andrew Lison, member of the organizing committee, to ask him about the festival, the genre, and imaginary indie pop supergroups. If you're in the Bay Area sometime during the next few days, make sure to grab a burrito and then head down to one of the venues and enjoy [...]

From the concert Thursday evening at Gramophone, London . Thanks to J.A. for the heads up!
Back from a fantastic but extremely exhausting trip to Tallinn . I know I have a habit of forgetting things, but I seriously cannot recall being so completely worn out before. Ever! So today is one long uphill climb. As an almost symbolic response to how I’m feeling today, The William Blakes and Spleen United teamed up at the recent Backstage show and performed an alternative (and by that I certainly don’t mean bad) version [...]

Only a week and half has gone since I returned from the trip to Warsaw and it’s already time to board the next flight. So tomorrow I’ll be heading for the Estonian capital Tallinn , where I am going to spend 4 days with 7 of my very thirsty friends. Surprisingly (to some I suspect) plans do include other things beside drinking and among things I’m especially looking forward to visiting the Danish King’s Garden , where in 1219 our national flag was handed to the [...]

Gute Nachrichten. Northern Portrait - Crazy | mp3 Download audio file (northern01.mp3) [...]

The Ruined by Martin concert Friday evening was a mixed experience. It sure was great finally meeting the guys and equally great to at first hand be there to witness that the band has moved to the next level and is now a live band. Unfortunately the venue didn’t offer the band the best conditions as they had to care of the sound themselves. So on a few occasions the sound was deficient, but taking into consideration that this was their debut and they had to do it in DIY fashion, they certainly did [...]

I quite enjoyed the live blogging Wednesday evening , and since the scenario is pretty much the same (wife’s out and the kids are asleep), I thought why not do it again? I still have plenty of mails to read, stuff to comment and a few songs to post, so for the next couple of hours this post will slowly expand. A photo will be added in a few minutes. Finally; here's the usual disclaimer. There will be more focus on writing and posting than on spelling and grammar! As promised a photo. Please [...]

One quick search at Hypem reveals that The Pains of Being Pure at Heart has already been featured on just about every indie pop loving blog. So feel free to move on, as the next few lines will contain absolutely nothing that hasn’t been said or written numerous times before. But since this is my blog, what other space would be more appropriate to share my 5 cents on the smashing debut album by the NY quartet, than right here? I have vowed to never use that [...]

According to a blog-entry from Caspar (the "reclusive, mysterious, Danish-born founder of Champagne Riot , and its lone member"), he has joined forces with Northern Portrait , the other great Danish indie-pop-project. Caspar will play bass on NP 's forthcoming spring tour, and the set will probably also include some of his own songs. Still, the Champagne Riot project is in no way dead, as Caspar is [...]
Både Crazy og I Give You Two Seconds To Entertain Me er stadig at finde i Frekvens-playeren til højre.
