Nosaj thing live set for Mary Anne Hobbs Experimental Show on Radio 1 04.03.09 Robot Koch - Robots don't Sleep Mixtape So great - both of them!
Quite possibly one of the most fun things I did while in LA was to attend Low End Theory , a gathering of local and visiting electro-glitch-hop performers that was worth every penny. Given the schedule, I held down while in LA I rarely did much of anything, but managed to hit up Low End Theory a few times...which says a lot. I got to see Daedelus do an amazing and varied set on his magical Monome , as well I got to see Jel (a member of both Subtle [...]

Los Angeles's Nosaj Thing was quite possibly my favorite discovery of 2008. A new guy on the scene, with just an single EP under his belt, he's still created a work of majesty that brings along definite anticipation for currently underway, full length. His tracks are capture a kind of warm analog wonder, peppered with deft drum programming and tasteful glitchy elements. Nosaj Thing - Bach 1685 Purchase the vinyl from Turntable Labs [...]

Two more Motico H4 recordings have appeared on the interweb. If you don't know the duo's brand of SKINNG GRRR postpunk, then you need to listen to the mp3 below. Downloadables: "A Career Open to Talent" (box.net mp3) "Floss Picks Dix" (box.net mp3) Editor's Note: I went with the Big Black reference above. But now I (kinda) think that I should have said... "I refer to Motico as Motico Of North America when I am feeling pompous." If you got the Big Black [...]
A few things vaguely Shepard Fairey related streaming together on me this week... Guy I've really been into lately, played the Obey party at SXSW this past year, is Nosaj Thing (aka Jason Chung). He is a L.A.-based electronic artist/producer. Known for some excellent remixes of names like Radiohead, Health and Daedelus, but makes some pretty excellent music in his own right. Namely, we are [...]
I pretty much focus on the indie here at GT, but when majors send me stuff I give it away to you. Today, for you I have the new The Black Keys' Live At The Crystal Ballroom DVD to freebize (real verb? no). Watch the preview: The DVD was produced and directed by Lance Bangs. It includes 17 live songs, 3 music videos and behind-the-scenes footage of the making of the Danger Mouse produced Attack & Release . The sold-out performance was recorded on April 4, [...]

I don't think any of us at EastofLa have posted about FlyLo, so here it goes. Flying Lotus will be listed as one of my favorite active producers. Whether it be his beats, remixes, or whatever, I am absolutely obsessed with this dude. And just recently, FlyLo released his second issue of his "LA EP" series and I am here just making sure you folks get your hands on some good music. In this issue, FlyLo remixes the likes of Ras G, Nosaj Thing, Samiyam and Mike Slott, and I certainly recommend that you guys purchase this EP. [...]

Nosaj Thing (Jason Chung) is an electronic artist/producer from Los Angeles. He's remixed Radiohead, Daedelus and a few others, gotten mad love from XLR8R and The Fader, won remix contests and beat battles, and shared the stage with the likes of Z-Trip and DJ Krush. I just stumbled across this very smooth track of his called "Aquarium," the perfect tune for a dreamy underwater adventure, found on this EP from 2006. The video is here . Nosaj Thing - "Aquarium" [...]
L.A. crowd murderer, Nosaj Thing has put together my favorite Reckoner Remix to date. Please show this kid some love and toss him a vote. Voting doesn't end until Nov 13, so be sure to tell all of your nimble-fingered friends about this banger.

So, we are all familiar with the Radiohead remix contests, yes? This time around it's "Reckoner" that is having its stems tweaked. I thought I would point out some of my favorites that have appeared online. If you read this blog with any regularity you know that I previously shared the remix by Low Scores (and if you haven't listened to that check it out... here ). If you like one of the remixes below, please to remember to vote for them. The top remix now has 6489 votes, so vote early and [...]
The London Film Festival premiere of Aaron Rose's Beautiful Losers documentary. Arguably the most important/most inspiring North American art culture/movement in the last 15 years. The after party features art and photography from Cheryl Dunn and for the UK - Ben Drury, Will Barras, INSA, James Jarvis and French , music line-up - Squeak E Clean, Nosaj Thing, Take, Patchwork Pirates and Vamanos , exclusive extra screenings from the [...]
The reckoner mixes just keep on coming...here's DJ Earworm's mash of Kanye West's Love Lockdown and Radiohead's Reckoner... Kanye West vs Radiohead - Reckoner Lockdown And then Diplo turns around as says "hey that first Reckoner remix was shitty so here's a new one"...and yes it's improved, but not that much improved...I'm still digging Nosaj Thing's mix [...]
These mixes seem to just keep getting better especially considering that the Diplo mix that kicked off the series wasn't so great. More at Nosaj Thing's MySpace.

<img src=" " alt="" /> I don't know if you heard of this boxset that Adam Weissman (Stussy) and James Sheffield (Turntable Lab) has put together? Well it's called Beats and is a collection of instrumentals from up and coming producers. It is limited to 500 and was release on the 31st of May. Anyway, Nosaj Thing got a wicked track on there and since I'm a fan of him I asked if we could get it up on Discobele. If you like his track, [...]

Nosaj Thing is the alter ego/production name of 22 year-old Jason Chung from Los Angeles, who creates some fascinating and relaxing electronic music. No pounding bass or glitchy blog-tricks here, just some old-fashioned modulating fun that wouldn't be out of place in a number of commercials and movie soundtracks I could think of off the top of my head. He was recommended to me by a DJ friend of mine and I listened to the tracks he sent over without really thinking about it, but once I got my hands on his HEALTH remix he [...]
