Lost Highway by Richard Currey is one of the best novels I have ever read, and I've read more books than I can remember. I highly recommend it to fans of Crazy Heart . Lost Highway 's protagonist Sapper Reeves may be a tad more sentimental and genteel than old Bad Blake, but he's every bit as authentic and enthralling. 2 of the most talented unsigned bands right now I know are ARMS and Perfume Genius , both cover their respective sounds in very graceful ways. Sisters is a totally rocking duo from Brooklyn, and essentially Death By Audio. They play your basic drums and guitar bro rock, but have a genuine heart and excitement to them that makes them extremely fun to watch. I'm recommending this show on the strength of Sisters, though I saw Knight School open for Let's Wrestle and Pains of Being Pure at Heart a million years ago and thought they had potential.
