
Already more than halfway through their unusual and expansive month-long project, folk-rock act Poor Bailey have delivered the goods when it comes to honest songwriting. Suzanne Vega : Small Blue Thing [ purchase ] Small. Blue. Thing. Three short words which combine to form an intricate puzzle. There is a sense here of small, as in insignificant. Blue here may represent sad. Or, taken together, this small blue thing may be something rare and precious. All of this is in Suzanne Vega's lyric, for the listener to puzzle out.
