Pitchfork reported today that my favorite Anticon shoegangster, Odd Nosdam is releasing a remix/rarities compilation next month. This is exciting news for anyone who is a fan of his previous work. I was able to catch some of his peers at the Anticon showcase this past week and I must say this label continues to stand out. The demise of cLOUDDEAD I feared would dampen my spirits a little, but albums from Why, Odd Nosdam, Sole, and Telphone Jim Jesus were on repeat for quite awhile this past year. By the way you can expect [...]
It's no secret that I burned out on music as 2007 rolled into its final quarter. After moving to Chicago and getting a job that actually kept me busy, it was hard to stay motivated splitting all of my time between working from 6AM to 6PM, keeping up appearances to try and get a foothold on this place, and making sure I paid all my bills. Growing up is demanding, I don't have to tell you this. Unfortunately for newcomers, there are a lot of albums already suited to coping with this issue. And looking back on this list, not [...]

After some protests for not updating undomondo, here's a quick playlist selected from what I've been listening to recently. Electronica artist Odd Nosdam aka David Madson, who recently released a new album called "Level Live Wires" on Anticon . Lovely guitar folk from Turner Cody , experimental electronics meet with ambience & trumpet by Australian Roam the Hello Clouds and an old track reminded me by a friend yesterday by Os Carrascos , featured on Senor Coconut 's 2005 compilation Legendary Latin Club Tunes . More to follow [...]
Odd Nosdam is back with another round of instrumental hip hop in their signature dark and experimental style. I miss some of the weird vocals from their last album, but this is still a nice little sliver of YMMV. From...

Level Live Wires is the kind of free-thinking collage album anyone with a keen fondness for sounds will enjoy. The man behind its broad sonic spectrum is Anticon.'s Odd Nosdam, aka David Madson, and he kindly joins us this week to answer some Interversity questions ahead of the album's Tuesday release date. Read, digest and enjoy the hell out of this album. We still are. [...]
Anticon's known as a hip-hop label, but their broad catalog ventures outside what a lot of people would place in that genre. Case in point: David P. Madson, a.k.a. Odd Nosdam, who makes drone-filled music that could be a soundtrack...

Odd Nosdam - Kill Tone (Anticon. 2007) Odd Nosdam - Level Live Wires / Anticon. If it seems like we're closely watching the Anticon. offices, we apologize: Mansbestfriend's latest just happened to be a really excellent record and, together with Thee More Shallows , our faith in Anticon. had not necessarily been restored but more revitalized. Now we're still a long way off from this one (August 28th is the official release date), so it's likely that someone will call us out for jumping the [...]
