I've talked about Audrey Hepburn briefly before, but today she gets the center stage, as I talk about a few songs on the theme of the most beautiful woman in recorded history. We'll start by noting that not only was she an extremely talented actress and beautiful beyond words, the woman could also sing . Moon River - Audrey Hepburn I talked about this song almost a year ago. My comments from back then: "Breakfast at Tiffany's is a great film on its own merits, but I would happily watch [...]

#10 - Electric President - S/T ( Morr Music ) Probabilmente, senza il loro passaggio in Italia, nemmeno me li sarei ricordati. Probabilmente, rispolverandoli e perdendo il concerto, sarebbero tra i primi cinque. Sicuramente, un ottimo disco Mp3: Snow On Dead Neighborhoods "ELECTRIC PRESIDENT" review on INDIE FOR BUNNIES [...]
I always like to wait until after the new year to try and put together a 'best of' list of the top songs that I enjoyed in the past 365 days. Here's last year's top 20 21 that worked their way into my head, and stayed there. MP3: 21 Camera Obscura ...
1. Bloc Party – ‘Song For Clay’ 2. Duke Special – ‘Freewheel’ 3. The Immediate – ‘Ghost In This House’ 4. Arcade Fire – ‘Intervention’ 5. The View – ‘Wasted Little DJs’ half a dozen. Oh No! Oh My! – ‘I Have No Sister’ 7. [...]
Okay, so I realise that 49 songs is a pretty random number. I don't entirely know why I chose it. It's just that 50 seemed rather generic to me. I also know that the ordering on a lot of these songs is slightly absurd. Isn't #36 really better than #37? I honestly couldn't tell you as my opinion probably changes from day to day. So take the numbering with a pinch of salt. It's a rough guide, nothing more. I should also point out that I limited any band to having no [...]
I wrote and prepared this the same time as I did my Christmas Mix, but thought I would save it for a Christmas present to you all. Although I have focused primarily on indie this year, that is not the total of my taste as this list should show. As with the Christmas Mix, each song [...]

and now, i give you my best of '06. 10. bishop allen - every EP (especially april ) ok, so technically bishop allen didn?t release an LP this year, but using a sufjan-like technique, they have released an EP for every month. the april and july EPs were particular favorites of mine. every month i?ve found myself itching to hear the new material and i can honestly say i have yet to be disappointed. bishop allen - [...]

Ten more of my favorite albums of 2006. Can you even handle all the suspense? 40. Oh No! Oh My! - Oh No! Oh My! (Self Released) MP3 | Walk In The Park An entire album of twee indie pop with plenty of catchy little "la la's" and "ba ba's" for me to sing to my daughter. I dare you to listen to this album and try to not to sing along. [...]
I honestly despise "best of" end of the year posts. But I couldn't let my favorites be forgotten. And yes, if everyone else was jumping off the Brooklyn Bridge, I probably would too. Who wants to be left alone? Last year I compiled my favorite songs of the year , which I plan to do again, but I had to give props to the albums that were almost played to death for me this year. My list will be obvious to those who know me, and to those that aren't -- you will notice there is [...]

" Indie pop refers to indie music which is considered to be based on the conventions of pop music. The term is nebulous." I came across that line while flipping through the pages of Wikipedia and thought it was great. Nebulous is probably the gold standard when it comes to synonyms for the much less exciting word, vague . The quote is taken from Wiki's information on indie pop, which goes on to read: "Because indie rock is sometimes used to mean indie music as a whole, indie [...]

It's been a banner year for Austin's Oh No! Oh My!, and their self-titled debut, with its blend of twee and kink (think Belle & Sebastian meets The Unicorns) is finding its way on to many year-end lists. Two of the band's creative minds (Daniel Hoxheimer and Greg Barkley) shared with us their picks for the best of 2006, and judging from their respective lists, their tastes are not too dissimilar from our own.

İlk grubumuz benden gelsin dedim. İşte Oh No! Oh My! . Bu pek bir indie görünen isimlerle çıkış yapmak avantajlı bir durum olsa gerek. Ama önyargılı yaklaşmıyorum. 2006 ortalarında kendi releaseleri olan Oh No! Oh My! debut albümleri. Oh No! Oh My! - Walk In The Park Bu da elektronik aksamdan kastım Oh [...]
Welcome to blog radio volume eight. I would be silly not to call this post, "the ocho." Crop Circle - Message from Aliens or from Bored Pranksters? And so there it is. I usually save these blog radio spots for the weekends, but I have heard so many tracks this week that I was into - I just couldn't wait. These songs, by the way - for new visitors, are what I am listening to and where whimsy
The Jolly Rogers was het toch niet helemaal en ze hebben hun bandnaamlaten veranderen in de ietwat vreemde Oh No! Oh My!. Deze naam staatdan ook garant voor vreemde muziek met vreemde teksten. Zo horen webijvoorbeeld in het overvrolijke nummer Walk In The Park de cynische tekst Its A Nice Day For A Drive-by Shooting voorbij komen en bena-drukt Oh No! Oh My! dat Audrey Hepburn gewoon een lekker di...
Oh No! Oh My! is so damn consistent. On their debut album, I skip over "Reeks & Seeks" and eject the disk before "Women Are Born In Love" but every other song is worth a listen. At Alchemize this past Friday night, they put some extra oomph in "Reeks & Seeks," left out "Women..." altogether, and played the rest of their album along with some solid new tunes. According to my math, that equals out to a pretty flawless setlist. "The Bike, Sir" was one of the 'new' songs. [...]
