Yes, I'm back! It took me the deletion of Thieves By Tuesday* at the free web hosting site, Blogger, to realize the mistake I've made in the first place upon making this blog, and its working with Blogger. I'm in high hopes now that I'm in the WordPress family, an event like that will be avoided for eternity. You might notice how, over and over, I reiterate the stress I have with my college course and the absence of free time with all of the things I've been balancing. It's annoying, I know. But every single [...]

![[SXSW] Floating Fest 2K10 - The Recap](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2444099_lg.jpg)
As you may have read on Twitter or can deduct from the image above, my second time attending SXSW was made memorable by planning a day party equally as unforgettable. I had been telling friends and colleagues alike that last year's inaugural SXSW experience was a whirlwind of sticking IGIF's toes in the water while figuring Austin out, but this year would be a full-on cannonball looking to make a notable splash. With a buzzworthy lineup condensing nearly every band I've loved over the past six months into one afternoon, great beer on tap, and hoards [...]

The People To Get Excited About If You're Going To SXSW But Would Like Anyway Even If You Weren't Going Mix Part 2 of 2 You're probably wondering what the hell all those letters mean. Kicking off South By Southwest coverage this year is a massive mix for a massive fest. There's been quite a bit of material I could have covered before the fest officially goes down, and the operative phrase there is "could have." Undoubtedly, it's a gargantuan amount, and the time I've had lately has [...]
![[SXSW] IGIF Presents: Floating Fest 2K10](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2391329_lg.jpg)
What's been an exhaustive labor of love these past few months, is finally coming to be an actual reality! SXSW 2010 is a mere week or so away and IGIF is back for our second helping of the (beyond) crazy week of music industry madness. Last year we got our toes wet throwing a great day party with Two Syllable Records ; this year we're doing a full-on cannonball and making a big splash with our own party. Without further ado, we give you Floating Fest 2K10 : [...]
It's been a hectic week 'round these parts and nothing serves as a sweeter release than the weekend. So in celebration of all things TGIF and IGIF, I'm cracking my dorkishly delightful whip and unleashing an entire week's worth of history mixery. Oh yes, time for some mixery with an emphasis on history - and what a week it's been. It's hard to believe that 11 years ago the media firestorm known as the "Lewinsky Scandal" first gained momentum, broken by Matt Drudge on January 18 th [...]
![[BreakThru Radio - Anatomy of a Blogger]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2151010_lg.jpg)
BreakThru Radio Anatomy of a Blogger During our little hiatus - I've decided to call our unofficial, unannounced period of stagnance a few weeks ago a "hiatus" - we were woken up from our slumber by a few podcasters, BreakThru Radio . In our irrevocable laziness, we actually managed to bring ourselves to productivity again, if not for just a little bit. With Alina in Baltimore and myself in Austin, we reconnected via conference call to put together a program for BreakThru Radio's Anatomy of a Blogger series. Anatomy [...]

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars Amidst the world of lo-fi stands one Slumberland Records band who is willing to go against the grain. Ladies and gentleman we present to you, Pants Yell! . Well, we don't actually present them to you, as Received Pronunciation is the group's third proper release. Still, after being all over the SR catalogue this year, and I assure you, we're still into it, we now have a new record to fall [...]

Have you seen this? I’m a fan of Au Revoire Simone and so a while ago, when I saw that Au Revoire was touring with a band called Oh No Oh My , I looked into them. They’ve been making it onto my playlists for some time now, and I thought it was finally time to share them [...]
One other downfall that I forgot to mention yesterday, with regards to DJ'ing, is that the day after, I feel highly hungover. Even more so when I don't drink. Completely wrecked. And end up having the productivity levels of a sleeping goat. Like I did all day today. I'm not going to harp on again about the [...]

I'm once again caught in work-limbo, so here's just a quick overview on what Last.FM recommends this week: (((S))) - Mesmerized (Remix By Angele Phase/Pete Salmang) (MP3) Robert Post - Without A Heart I'd Rather Die (MP3) The Maximilians - Beating Heart (MP3) Oh No Oh My - The Boy With An Anchor (MP3) [...]

Oh No, Oh My comes from Austin. Listening to their music is easy. Like reading an "I Can Read" book with your favorite 3-year-old (or in your favorite 3-year-old frame of mind). Remember Syd Hoff's Stanley or Danny and the Dinosaur ? Oh No, Oh My bears a similar hallmark of endearing simplicity. The foursome ( Greg Barkley, Joel Calvin, Daniel Hoxmeier and Tim Regan) plays skin-softening, mellow indie rock tunes in an agreeable blend of flavors that go down smooth. Pleasant [...]

Much to my surprise and delight, this year's 4th of July was a remarkably idiot-free experience. Even the metro was relatively uncrowded (by which I mean, not as bad as rush hour on a weekday). Though someone thought it would be a good idea to put sparklers near the Tenleytown metro - I have no idea what they were thinking. On a related note, having Friday off was excellent. A friend and I managed to unintentionally walk about eight miles zigzagging between Wisconsin Ave. and Connecticut Ave. up and down NW DC, even making it to Politics [...]
