![OLD ABRAM BROWN LIVE AT HUNT MEMORIAL LIBRARY [VIDEO]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3570676_lg.jpg)
A couple weeks back I was able to catch We Are Trees at Pianos in Manhattan. The surprise of the evening, however, was Boston-based indie pop band Old Abram Brown . Their style is super accessible; think Young The Giant meets Jukebox The Ghost . The band was up in New Hampshire recently where they hauled their equipment into the local library and recorded this live version of their song "The Good Man's [...]

Premiere: Old Abram Brown – "Tides" - A Cluster 1 live premiere that takes place in a library. Quiet libraries are for the birds….rock and roll libraries however, are so in. Live: Arcade Fire - "We Used to Wait" & "Sprawl II" - The Canadian import visits Chicago's Sound Opinions for a stripped down affair. Le Butcherettes – "New York" - Brought to you by Terroreyes.tv, Le Butcheress tells her story of what New York means to her, before rocking [...]

Libraries aren't known for being havens of rock and roll. Sure, they house the greatest works of literature man has ever crafted (along with Dean Koontz books), but they don't scream "Hey, let's boogie," That is, unless, you're talking about the Hunt Memorial Library in Nashua, NH, which has become the backdrop for a series of spellbinding performances by rockers Old Abram Brown . The highlight of the whole endeavor, though, may be the stirring "Tides", which Cluster 1 is happy to premiere. Based out of Boston, MA, the [...]
Click here to view the embedded video. Remember back in the day when I wrote up a grand ol' artist profile about Old Abram Brown, some youngster New Hampshirites new to the indie music circuit? Everything about Old Abram Brown screams passion. Carson Lund's vocals are earnest and emphatic, as if breaking all barriers of viscosity. Piano holds down the foundation, and the rest of the instruments follow suit with bursts of momentum. I can't help but think these boys are ready for the big time, [...]
Visible Voice is proud to participate in the Old Abram Brown Restless Ghosts blog tour. Here's the deal. Old Abram Brown returned to their hometown of Nashua NH and filmed live versions of each song on their recent album Restless Ghosts in the hallowed and dusty halls of Hunt Memorial Library. The videos are as beautiful as the songs. Each track is being premiered on a different blog - pretty cool if you ask me. I have the pleasure of introducing "I'm Not Happy" - one of my favorite [...]

In this ever changing musical world bands are always having to alter their approach of how they get music to the eager public and make it as unique and interesting as possible. Some musicians decide to try and write an album for all 50 states in the U.S. while other take a simpler route and personalize each LP that is mailed out. Old Abram Brown are one of those bands that are breaking new ground of inventiveness and going on a "blog tour" in support of their upcoming album titled Restless Ghosts . Every Friday [...]

Bearcubes , Shapes And Numbers , Emily Elbert , and Old Abram Brown Tuesday at TT The Bear's (Add to your Google Calendar) Thick with Orwellian images from 1984, Old Abram Brown trudges through a darkness of bureaucratic rot. And yet, with a sound both syrupy and sharp, the band fights back, clanging with the strain of an underground rebellion. "Cadence on the Heavy Hand" serves as the hub of the struggle's intellectual resistance. [...]

I know I know, we all want to get that Pigeons lady image (or whatever you wanna call it) down the page as fast as possible! Blam(i)e Jamie! But trust me, this post isn't forced - it's rather the opposite. I've been sitting on these fellas for several days, and I think now's an appropriate time to unleash them on you. Old Abram Brown, four guys out of New Hampshire and Massachusetts, are more than happy to provide the rock to our roll, with elements of folk, pop, roots, and even jazz. Comprised of Carson Lund (Vocals, Trumpet, [...]
I am not sure how I came across Old Abram Brown, but after hearing their debut, Alive in Winter for the first time, I knew that the band's pretty special. Old Abram Brown borrows plenty of elements from Cold War Kids. Alive in Winter features that similar country-blues/folk sound as well as the wonderful soulful rhythms and melodies... the crashing piano and recurring horn throughout the record is absolutely fantastic! On the other hand, they tend to experiment more with the rhythms and the structures in their music; the last track, "Muddy Bricks" reminds me of [...]

Coming from Nashua, NH, Old Abram Brown manages to take away my breath with awe. Creating an original indie/post-rock sound that sometimes resembles The Middle East or an American Radiohead yet is totally their own, the 3 piece band has recently released its debut LP, Alive in Winter . I wanted to take that opportunity and get to know the guys a little better, so I contacted Erik of the band with the following results: Q . Old Abram Brown is composed of 3 unique members. Can you tell me a little about the group [...]
"Because you like Coldplay." OK, we kid, we kid. Kind of. Chris Martin gets a big chuckle out of the Filligar video. Coldplay takes a lot of heat for being such a harmless band (and that might be their biggest fault) but for all their wonk, it's pretty cool that they are allowing WFNX (alt-radio station here in Boston) choose their opening act . I mean, we could really *screw* them, right? Here are the bands up for the opening slot [...]
Boston/New Hampshire locals Old Abram Brown would like to open for Coldplay. I mean, so would a lot of people, but you can actually help them make it to the stage. LiveNation is running a contest in several cities to determine who will open for Coldplay, with radio station WFNX partnering up for the Boston show. The contest is based off online votes for band's video, and Old Abram Brown's dashing music video for "In Your Highchair" has helped them make it to the finals. Vote for them here . It's the eighth [...]
