Went to Zaphod Beeblebrox on September 7, 2011. I was curious to see this band called Wagons . They are signed to Six Shooter Records and came all the way from Australia to do their North American tour. So why not check out this band and hopefully give them a lovely Ottawa welcome. Opening up the show was Ottawa's Old Crowns . Haven't seen them play in quite some time. Since they are busy (I hope [...]

Also with help within the Ottawa community, one being apt613 , CHUO and many more. The event went to a worthy cause which was the Ottawa Food Bank . Alot of prizes were handed and surprisingly enough people were on hand to get them. Hosting the event was CBC Bandwidth 's [...]

The second night of the i(heart)music festival happened on August 27th. The turnout was better than the before but still I love the bands that played the night before. (People, you have to check out Parlovr big time!) It felt like Ottawa bands night well minus the one band from Toronto. Sorry for this review being somewhat short being its very late night and editing the photos at the same time. Oceans was up first. They are totally improving alot with their live [...]
List of who is playing at this year's event. Its the last week of summer and either people need some musical fun to end it off. Here is one mini-festival/show that you should check out. Its the i(heart)music festival on August 26-28. Three days of great Canadian bands/musicians playing live under one building. Five years running and could be possibly (or not) the last one for i(heart)music. Here is why you should check out this event. Thursday, August 26th [...]

Here's the July Feel Bad for You comp to tide you over until I get back. I also forgot to post the June FBFY comp. Do you still want me to post it, even if its a few months late? A few months late is the story of my life... From the forum users [...]
Here are three more great, Canadian, acts for you to check out this week: The Coast For those who like: The Stills Toronto's own, this band makes catchy rock with a slightly atmospheric twist to it. They blew me away at NXNE. The Coast's Myspace Old Crowns For those who like: Uncle Tupelo The twangy, soulful rock of this Ottawa band should be instantly appealing to the blue collar indie
My second night of NXNE was far more successful than my first. I kicked off the night at NOW's showcase at the Gladstone, with Timber Timbre being the star attraction for the evening. What drew me to the Gladstone though was the opportunity to see the (very) young Guelph band Mathemagic. The band were backed by beats from generating from their Mac Book. It was obvious too that when they write
Ottawa's Old Crowns have a recently released debut album under their belts and are coming strong into NXNE. I had the chance to get the band's Steve St. Pierre's thoughts about NXNE and music in general. Here ya go: T.O. This month's MAP contains no new music from me, but instead an overdue inclusion of David Thomas Broughton. The only problem with introducing him to a worldwide audience is that he can never really be appraised on his music alone. It's not that his recorded output is anything short of ...
