Sonically invoking grime/kuduro/hard edged South African House, the new track from Old Money connects / confronts "seemingly disparate things such as: historically black fraternities and sororities in the U.S., pre-Columbus African presence in the western hemisphere, police brutality, "tutting", euro-centric beauty standards, our Jamaican and Guyanese heritage, and more" Also helps that it's a huge jam.

Old Money 's got a wild new video out for "Dolla Van," and damn does this song have a crazy beat. Anything with cowbells will get my vote. In fact, the cowbell-riddled track is so contagious that it's even got ?uestlove's vote: After that description, how can you not watch it? Hit the jump to watch "Dolla Van"...

If you were to hear Tom Evanchuck and the Old Money , you'd be convinced they were a group of good ol' boys from the South. They've got the Americana vibe that recalls nights spent on someone's front porch with a couple guitars and some moonshine. The truth is, Evanchuck and his bandmates aren't old boys at all. They're not even from the South. The foursome-consisting of Tom Evanchuck (vocals/guitar), Patrick Jenkins (lead guitar), Chris Verdi (bass), and Anthony Evanchuck (drums)-are all twenty-something Ohioans with an intense respect for the men such as Neil Young [...]

CMJ has never really made sense to me. A bunch of bands, acts and DJs performing a week long festival in NYC. It is hardly the place to host a festival. Isn't there always lots of acts all year around at very close venues? Where CMJ can succeed is by showcasing more than up and coming acts, but perhaps a new idea. Thus, BPM 2011 is born. This event is about show casing new and innovative minds that are pioneering a unique pulse, that is the backbone of genres already formed. The pride in this group is the fact that [...]

This is an older Old Money track but I just recently discovered it. I love the flip on Bon Jovi's "Livin' On A Prayer". [Audio Clip: View Full Post To Listen] Download: Old Money - Take My Hand
This got me feeling like Hip-House finna make a comeback! Shouts to Old Money .
Smokey landed in hollywood and immediately began taking on enemy fire from hungry skeletons. In need of Shields, a beautiful woman with a soft spot in her heart for superfuture art called her friend Tyler. 13 seconds later Tyler pulled up with madness in his eyes and began to shoot. Much love to the lovely woman and Tyler Shields for riding in the Smokey war. – Smokey Robotic

Photo by Tyler Shields What happens when you put Smokey Robotic and Tyler Shields in a room together? Well, something like this. I wonder who the beautiful woman walking around the room is.. Hmmm... Smokey Robotic "Uptown (Konrad Old Money's Kuduro Remix)" Produced by Konrad Old Money vs. Voodoo Vandals.

Not only did Smokey Robotic just release a brand new remix of their single "Uptown" from one of their own producers, they have also released a brand new promo video to go with it that could essentially be labeled as a music video. The remix is in Konrad Old Money's penchant Kuduro style and transforms the original feel good single into a wild, uptempo and energetic track that will have you dancing uncontrollably. It adds more intensity to the prospect depicted in the video of the group losing their beloved Smokey Robotic who escapes while [...]

Konrad Old Money (of Smokey Robotic and Old Money fame) just unleashed this sick remix of Nipsey Hussle's "Feelin Myself". Nipsey is a straight beast on the mic and with Konrad behind the boards, the combination is killer. Better than the original ? I think so. Drake and Justin Bieber Drake pulled double-duty as nominee and host at the 2011 JUNO Awards, held last night (March 27) in Toronto. Along with introducing performers and presenters, Drake's job as host included entertaining the audience and viewers with pre-taped sketches throughout the night. Often times at awards shows these kinds of sketches border on cheesy more so than funny, but in Drake's case, there was nothing but hilarity to be seen. In the sketch that opened the show, Drizzy gets a call from his pal and fellow Canadian sensation [...]
