A deliriously busy Tuesday: ► Wilco plays to a sold-out Palladium behind last September's release of the band's eighth album, "The Whole Love." White Denim opens. ► Few purveyors of guitar-driven pop and heavenly jangle are as adept at plastering smiles on the faces of fans as Tommy Keene . The veteran songwriter released a highly recommended career retrospective last year titles "You Hear Me," then followed it up in September with one of the brightest albums of his career, "Behind the Parade." He plays the Bootleg Bar tonight. That's his video [...]
Your Tuesday things: ► The Silent Comedy bring their foot-stomping blues-Americana to the Roxy for a headlining show that features rockers Taylor Locke & the Roughs , who are working on the follow-up to the two albums they released in 2010, and Races , the indie-rockers whose debut album "Year of the Witch" is out March 27 on Frenchkiss Records. (And Buzz Bands LA will be selecting the between-sets music, any requests?) ► Norwegian rocker Ida Maria , who was dynamite last year when she visited the Roxy, comes back [...]

So many good shows tonight — in the interest of self-promotion, we'll start with our own: ► Buzz Bands LA's SecondTuesday , our monthly songwriter night, brings Correatown , Imperial Mammoth , College Kids and Will Courtney to Lot 1 Cafe in Echo Park for a night of acoustic or semi-acoustic sets. The music starts at 9:15. ► Rock quartet Dead Sara (pictured), newly signed to Universal imprint Pocket Kid Records and with a debut album coming in May, headline the Troubadour, suported by Little Hurricane, Last in [...]

Olin & the Moon have brought back their "Beer and Bingo" Tuesday nights to the Echo this month, but there's better news for fans of the sweet-soundin', PBR-swillin' folk-rock quintet: They have a new album written. Brothers David and Travis LaBrel, along with bandmates Marshall Vore, Brian McGinnis and Kyle Vicioso, are currently just looking for someone to produce the follow-up to last year's "Footsteps." The band's new song "Something I Need to Break" is a slow burner, exemplary of Olin's keen Everyman musings. They just released it today, so you can whet your appetite before you [...]
Tuesdays shouldn't be this much fun: ► L.A. sextet Bikos , who busted out last year with their exuberant album of spiky art-punk "Make Your Sound Sound," play the Bootleg Bar as part of a great local bill that includes Lovers Drugs and Son Ark . [Get Bikos' "You Want It" right here . And, for today only, download "Drift Off," the title track rom Lovers Drugs' album, from Bandcamp.] ► It was so much fun last year they brought it back for 2012. L.A.'s Olin & the Moon [...]
Putting together a top ten list of singles is always harder than it should be. There's such a small body of evidence to judge success, unlike with a full album, that it usually ends up being a fight with futility. In the end I feel as though I was victorious and have each track in they're respective places. 10. The Glass Canoe – "The Field" (from Chimera ) The Glass Canoe is a relatively unknown band out of San Diego that deserve some spotlight time for this track off [...]
