Over the weekend, I got a really nice tip about a Danish band, The Boombox Hearts [ Facebook ]. The quintet describe themselves as "melancholic indie pop" with a penchant for nostalgic 60s fare, which isn't a pretty odd combination, so long as you don't expect to hear Owl City or another twee-pop act. Back from London and here's a real quick summary. London was lovely (as always), but crowded beyond belief. The weather was surprisingly fine. Ach, ist das schade - die dänische Band Oliver North Boy Choir hat sich aufgelöst. Wie Morten auch in seinem Blog beklagt , gehen die einzelnen Bandmitglieder von nun an getrennte Wege, veröffentlichen aber Ende des Monats noch eine Compilation mit bisherigem Material (vielleicht ja auch mit der tollen Kooperation mit Klaus & Kinski bei «Shell for the mourning» ?) und schenken uns zum Abschied den tollen Song «Blackmail» in einer Elektropopversion. As mentioned in yesterday's post, the new and final Oliver North Boy Choir EP Blackmail will be out February 22.
