One Little Plane - Into The Trees By Richard Wink Kathryn Bint has a voice that you can only fall in love with - fragile, beautiful, spellbinding, perfect for earnest Department Store advertisements and the first kiss scene from a film adaptation of the latest smash hit Young-Adult Fictional Novel. Into The Trees , the enchanting singer's second album as One Little Plane , following on from 2008's Until , is a real gooseflesh inducing moment capturer. Produced surprisingly understatedly by [...]

Marina & The Diamonds - Electra Heart According to Marina, this is a concept album about the failings of the American Dream and the emptiness of modern life, but really it's an electro-pop record that ditches much of the quirkiness that endeared the Greek/Welsh singer to her fans. The album may well gain her greater success, and Marina's mellifluous voice is still a wonderful instrument, but her early individuality and experimentation has been ditched somewhere along the line, and that is a shame.

Originally hailing from Chicago, Kathryn Bint is the woman behind One Little Plane, who's now based in London. She's got some heavy-hitters on her side, as her album was produced by Four Tet, with Colin Greenwood of Radiohead supporting on multiple tracks. Greenwood's resonant bass line on "Hold You Down" is the stable grounding force beneath Bint's brittle vocals that meander about in slow circles, waiting for the still-fresh emotions to settle into focus, like falling petals to the ground. Look for her debut Into The Trees out on Four Tet's label, Text, early next week.

Thanks to resident office UK expert Jeff for sending this our way this morning... One Little Plane aka Kathryn Bint who currently resides in London, but is from Chicago, just turned this morning around with her beautiful new song "She Was Out in The Water." The lilting guitar and vocal melodies interspersed with the grainy beach footage is simply perfect for this cloudy morning in NYC. Her album Into The Trees comes out on Text Records in May, produced by Kieran Hebden of Four Tet fame. Colin Greenwood (Radiohead) plays bass on [...]

Well this is really rather bloody fantastic. Seeing Kieran Hebden was on production duties initially piqued my interest, but really it's Kathryn Bint's fragile vocals and evocative lyrics that stand out. Unexpectedly, this is a straight up folk track, with no real hints of the electronic wizardry of Mr Hebden's Four Tet moniker, but that is probably for the best, as much of this tracks charm is down to it's simplicity and emotional rawness. "She Was Out In The Water" comes from One Little Plane's forthcoming album Into The Trees , which is entirely produced by Mr Hebden [...]

After mischievously knocking the wind out of the internet with Burial , Kieran Hebden now shifts gears to dabbling in production. Chicago folk artist Kathryn Bint is otherwise known as One Little Plane, and will be releasing a new full-length on Four Tet 's Text label in May. It's no secret that Hebden and Colin Greenwood are close friends, so there's no shock when the Radiohead bassist offers up some low frequency jam to this hypnotic number. The swirling spaced-out acoustic guitar recalls ' Circling ', so understandably Four Tet is at [...]
One Little Plane: "She Was Out In The Water"
This new track from Kathryn Bint's forthcoming LP as One Little Plane may set out into familiar hushed folk territory, but it quickly finds a subtle groove (with help from Radiohead's Colin Greenwood on bass) and a faint pulse beneath its finger-picked pattern (thanks to producer Kieran Hebden of Four Tet). While the tune does build a bit toward a mild climax, Bint's voice — complete with a nuanced, lightly weathered tone that's perfect for understated fare — pulls everything together like lace. A very promising taste of Into The Trees , due out on May 7th.
From the forthcoming Into The Trees LP.

One Little Plane is the guise of psych/folk musician Kathryn Bint, and later this spring she'll put out a record (a follow-up to 20082s Until ) on the label run by Four Tet's Kieran Hebden, Text Records. Listen to a track from that release, an ornate, slow-building number featuring Radiohead bassist Colin Greenwood and produced by Hebden, below. Read More...

Chicago's psych-folk artist One Little Plane has recruited two big-name talents for her upcoming sophomore album, Into the Trees . As At Ease reports, Radiohead's Colin Greenwood plays bass, and Four Tet serves as producer on the album. Into the Trees will be released in May by Text Records. As a first listen, stream the lead single, "She Was Out in the Water", below. Coincidentally, the album also includes a track called "Bloom".
Four Tet continues to create a study workflow, choosing his projects wisely. For his next undertaking, the producer teams up with One Little Plane to produce single "She Was Out In The Water". While the song doesn't move into any uncharted territory, it is a stable introduction into the band and their potential with Four Tet. Plus, you've got to love Kieran Hebden's temporary step out of the house music world to give a nod to his early production styles. One Little Plane's Into The Trees album is due out in May on Text Records.

Jen Davis - What Was Left (2007) There are tons more Great Songs of 2008 to list today... including a Japanese multi-instrumentalist's pop collage, a fascinating new-wave breakthrough, an anthem that changed a country, a commercial for Apple Bottom Jeans and boots with the fur, an emotive rock debut and the unorthodox layered vocals of a little UK singer. Van die lekker leuke experimentele waar je even in moet komen omdat ze zo'n gek stemmetje hebben of zo iets leuks aparts doen. One Little Plane . Een dametje die bij hetzelfde label als eindbaas Four Tet zit, vandaar dat ik haar uit liep te checken en lichtelijk stoked begin te raken. Sarah Maple - Branch Cock Heavy black bangs attempt to lay over her eyes, as if to quiet their bounce on an otherwise pale Chicago face. Her neck is slightly tilted to focus on ripping the corner of a small paper envelope of watermelon seeds. She arranges them one by one with an extended finger into the outline of a bloated watermelon on the wooden table, then puts the envelope in the middle of the circle and pulls confidently on her sleeves to cover her gentle fists. She [...]

Here's a track from One Little Plane titled Lotus Flower. This is from her latest album titled Until released this year. Singer Kathryn has outstanding vocals not only on this track but throughout her whole album. This track is very Bjork-esque and I'm lovin' it!
