When electronic musicians remix other electronic musicians, you can expect 1,000 times the bass thumps and weird blips and bloops from the original. In this case, Oneohtrix Point Never has taken Lindstrøm's single, "Call Me Anytime", and made it even dreamier and more accessible, condensing the original song's 9:44 run time down to five minutes. Some listeners are probably thankful for that. This remix will appear on a limited edition 12" also featuring remixes from Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti and Mark McGuire and will be out June 25. Later next month, Smalltown Supersound is set to release a 12" collection of remixes from the latest Lindstrøm album Six Cups of Rebel . This dizzying remix of "Call Me Anytime" from Oneohtrix Point Never , who continue to file out fantastic, odd-ball remixes, will be featured on the 12" alongside Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti and others. Oneohtrix Point Never, a.k.a. Dan Lopatin, has been making a bit of a splash recently. Here, he has covered the Harry Warren & Al Dubin track from 1934 "I Only Have Eyes For You." This is an ethereal take on the track, with spliced vocals and delicate soundwaves being the focus of this cover. It's a sleepy take on the track, and does a great job of mashing the past with the present. Oneohtrix Point Never is on a roll, and this cover will do nothing to disuade that. / via /

Here's one of the coincidentally many covers of Harry Warren and Al Durbin's 1934 hit "I Only Have Eyes For You," re-imagined vigorously through the perspective of Oneohtrix Point Never (Dan Lopatin). The lengthy, drone-inspired rendition was made for Doug Aitken's art installation at Washington D.C.'s Hirshhorn Museum tomorrow, which also features other renditions of the song. As previously reported , multimedia artist Doug Aitken recently began his highly-auspicious public art project "Song 13. Running through May 13th, the installation sees the cylindrical exterior of Washington, DC's Hirshhorn Museum transformed into an 360-degree outdoor cinema, with 11 projectors covering the 82-foot high building each night from sunset to midnight. Accompanying the various visual components is a soundtrack of spliced-together covers of Harry Warren and Al Dubin's classic track, "I Only Have Eyes for You".
