Lisa Germano's anticipated release Magic Neighbor is currently set to be released in mid-September, according to her label's official website, Young God Records . The site also features 'Snow,' a cut from the new album. Magic Neighbor will be Germano's eighth full-length (excluding re-issues and re-releases) and her third release on the Young God label. And as we mentioned with Sam Phillips previously , Germano too is also featured on the new issue of Believer Magazine [...]

Hier, un sentiment de plénitude nous a envahi, ce laisser-aller était très agréable. On le prolonge alors. op8 -cracklin'water- jeremy jay -while the city sleeps- ces deux groupes ont joué un rôle dans notre plaisir: essie jain -here we go- woodpigeon -that was good but can do better/closing credits-

Not content to simply die or accept the fact that he is the outspoken, moronic leader of the (self-anointed) "biggest band in the world," Bono has predicted that for he and his band U2, "2009 will be our year." I guess every year leading up to this one has been a real struggle for Bono and his band to receive any press - except, you know, all those articles about the epic failure of (PRODUCT)RED and the parody websites it inspired. Hopefully Mr. Paul Hewson (a man of very short stature, which is reportedly what [...]

It began innocently enough. I awoke to find Annie Hall on my television, and the sounds of rushing cars on Walnut Street filtering through my bedroom windows. It was 11:00am exactly. I slowly composed myself and decided that I would spend the day at my mother's house (100 yards down the street). My sister was sleeping in my father's room across the hall, with our dog curled up next to her. I asked if she wanted to lend me her car for a few hours, or should just walk to the other house. She said she would drive [...]

Good Sunday, my loves. Thanks for making this the most heavily trafficked week ever (I think?). Almost 1,000 people a day? On this piece of shit page? Clearly these visits have nothing to do with my ability to spin a yarn or engage in intelligent culture critique. Whatever the reason, feel free to stop by anytime. You're all welcome. Except for the gays. I hope your weekends were fun. I slept all Friday night, but went to a raging house party last night. Silly times. Drunk as hell. I was fierce on the dance floor. Stop laughing. It [...]
I've been slacking on my blog reading for the past month or two, so I was shocked to learn a few days ago of Lee Hazlewood's death on August 4. I know that there have been a slew of celebrity deaths in the past week or two, but it's unfathomable that I didn't read or hear mention of Hazlewood's passing via ANY mainstream media outlet until I specifically hunted them out after reading of his death via bloggers. A shame. I loved him. RIP, Lee. Lee Hazlewood "It [...]
I think I was going to be able to share with you the premiere of the new video cast from The Best Podcast You Have, but a link broke in our procedural chain, and now I'm left empty-handed, with no topic of discussion. Have no fear, I'm used to improvising generally humorous topics. I've been slacking recently with my long-running Craigslist performance art piece (fake personal ads), because I've been using the site for its unintended purpose: browsing apartment and job ads. In the next week or so, I'll have the mental wherewithal to begin anew with a [...]
