neue töne (772): ora cogan sie ist keine fremde in unseren gefilden. ora cogan . berichtet hatten wir hier . dennoch seien an dieser stelle aus aktuellem anlass ein paar daten zusammengefasst. geboren wurde ora in salt spring island, an der westküste kanadas. früh bekam sie es mit studioaufnahmen und der funktion des elternhauses als herberge, mit musikanten und allerlei verquerem volk zu tun. mit zwölf jahren fängt sie an, ihre eigenen songs zu schreiben. im immer noch zarten alter bringt sie sich den umgang mit gitarre, violine, piano und dulcimer bei. später wird sie zu einer ikone der indipendent szene. sie spielt [...]

Ora Cogan - Erst das Bild, dann der Song, dann fast gelöscht Darf ich bei meinen täglichen Musikförderungsmaßnahmen, natürlich Unbekanntes, aber auch mich besonders Berührendes vorstellen? Mich zunächst in ein Bild verlieben, von der Musik nur zu ahnen, um dann beim Hören bestätigt zu werden? Ich kenne Ora Cogan nicht, ich weiss nicht viel über ihre Lebendsumstände. Das heisst, rein gar nichts, ein wenig. Aber mir gefällt diese ruhige, schöne, traurige und einfache Musik, die nach Heimatlosigkeit klingt. neue töne (514): ora cogan ora cogan stammt von der westküste kanadas, dort, auf einer kleinen insel, wurde sie geboren. dass sie mit 12 anfing, erste songs zu schreiben, liegt vermutlich u.a. daran, dass das haus, in dem sie aufwuchs, gleichzeitig als aufnahmestudio herhalten musste und es künstler, aber auch besucher häufig frequentierten. mittlerweile lebt ora in vancouver und geht ihren eigenen weg, der nicht mehr belastet ist durch "fremde einflüsse". ihr stil ist unkompliziert, folk, vordergründig, mehr, dennoch, hintergründig. immer ist eine prise von etwas dabei, das sich erst noch empfinden, erfinden lassen muss. eine note [...]
