When we first found out about the Los Angeles quartet Saint Motel in October 2011, we immediately digged their music. So it was a question of time for us to ask them to be a part of our Nite Five series. They are true poets - you can learn this from listening to their songs. Before moving forward, stream two of them: Saint Motel - Puzzle Pieces Saint Motel - At Least I Have Nothing There's a new single that they just released - 'Honest Feedback'. As these guys [...]

Heading into the Radiohead concert last night, it wasn't certain which group of fans would leave more fulfilled. On one hand, the true believers, who are generally indifferent between King of Limbs , Hail to the Thief , or, say, Pablo Honey . And on the other, the Radiohead agnostics, who pretty much think of OK Computer , Kid A and Amensiac as a threefold view of Shangri-La, but who didn't name any price for In Rainbows . What was clear, however, was that five Radiohead fans [...]
Other Lives erhalten jetzt quasi den Ritterschlag. [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]

Other Lives (Photo: Eric Wildes) Live Review: Other Lives, Radiohead March 1, 2012, Phillips Arena, Atlanta by Eric Wildes I had never been to a show at Phillips Arena until recently, unless watching the keyboard player for the Atlanta Hawks mascot dunk challenge counts. So, as I was trying to plan for the trip downtown, I realized Phillips Arena may be the only large concert venue in Atlanta that affords the luxury of actually taking Marta directly to the venue -a treat that I hope [...]

Other Lives (Photo: Jeremy Charles) Exclusive Interview: Other Lives February 29, 2012 by Chuck Norton Other Lives' 2011 album, Tamer Animals , was on just about music critic's best-of lists for last year - and personally, it was one of my favorite albums as well. The album - the band's second - was recorded by the band in their hometown of Stillwater, OK. Getting out of the bounds of a studio allowed the band to craft an album that was tightly [...]

To say that I'm excited for Radiohead to be playing at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, CO would be an understatement. The guys played two new tracks, "Cut a Hole" and "Identikit." It's also important to note that "Meeting in the Aisle" was played live for the first time, ever. Looks like all of "The King of Limbs" was played, and none of "the Bends." Photos via AtEase and ArcadeFire Tube . Tickets to all US shows are SOLD OUT. Radiohead "Cut A Hole" [...]

photos by Amanda Hatfield Other Lives @ Bowery Ballroom on 2/17 " Other Lives ' sound is lush and rich, full of varied but precise instrumentation. Each member seamlessly switched from violin to guitar, trumpet, keyboard, bells, cello, percussion, harmonium etc., somehow getting to their instruments just at the right time in every song. Their CD Tamer Animals is a gorgeous reproduction of their sound, but seeing them live was an altogether different and wonderful experience. Watching the set up [...]

Last night I went to the Red Palace to see Oklahoma-based band Other Lives. I've been a fan of them for quite a while and they have been generating some well-deserved buzz. The show was sold out and it was quite packed - they probably could've sold out an even larger venue, honestly. First up was Australian-based Wim. I knew nothing about them before the show but I was impressed. The 5-piece

After a freakish water main break that turned most of the Bowery area into a large body of water the night before, Bowery Ballroom cleaned itself up in time to welcome Other Lives and supporting bands WIM and Lucius on Friday night. Indie folk band Lucius was a pleasant start to the evening. Dressed in dapper retro attire, singers Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig performed a set of catchy and upbeat tunes showcasing their beautiful, crystal-clear vocal harmonies that make each song shimmer. They even paid homage to the late [...]

Their cinematic folk rock has caught the ears of many fans and earned them a spot on tour with Bon Iver last year and now a string of dates with Radiohead (Yeah! That Radiohead !) this month and next. Seriously, 5 days after this show at [...]

With the news yesterday that Radiohead would be one of the two-weekend headliners at Coachella 2012, it was only fitting that the other West Coast dates finally started to get announced. They've added dates all over the world, actually, but the West Coast dates are the ones I care about. I'm a little bummed of [...]

When It's Frightening came out in 2009 we were all over it, especially with the magic that was "Percussion Gun," one of our favorite tracks from that year. Today, news hits the street that White Rabbits are going to release their new album Milk Famous on March 6th via TBD Records , the label that brought you Other Lives . This opening single definitely sees the band experimenting with negative space, offering up a more subdued [...]
