Last Saturday marked the first time the worldwide dance event known as Sensation touched down on Canadian soil, tearing apart the Rogers Centre in downtown Toronto. Best described as a Cirque du Soleil-esque spectacle combined with DJs, Sensation is a celebration of electronic dance music culture. Part rave and part circus, this wasn't your typical Saturday night show. It was a literal, visual, and auditory sensation. To those of you unfamiliar with Sensation, here's a little backstory: Originating in 2000 in the Netherlands at the Amsterdam Arena, Sensation has grown into a series of European events [...]
Suicide Sundaes - Stop your grinnin' and drop your linen, Sunday is back. Greg is here to bring you the week's dirty servings, and some old favorites through a throwdown-throwback to simpler times. A time when bangers were big, remixes were bigger, the bassline bled, and we didn't care about anything as long as came in kicking and left screaming. This week we are joined by Thomas Groutars from Belgium who helped pick out some amazing tracks for your listening pleasure. Thomas will be helping with future Suicide Sundaes posts as he was [...]

You've seen photographs online after parties that were absolutely bananas. Most likely, you've also seen the ones taking those photos, or you've seen the flash, and the one responsible has vanished. Camera in hand, I'm one of the many dark figures running through nightclubs, squeezing through groups of people packed in like sardines, trying constantly to find the best spot to capture that one moment when the pyrotechnics erupt and the crowd goes wild. Often times, these seemingly endless treks across clubs are fruitless, and we feel compelled to move again...and again...to chase the perfect shot. It's always a challenge; [...]

MY L IFE E VERY D AY, better known as LED, put on a show this past weekend that shocked the hell out of everyone who had the privilege (and wisdom) to attend. The Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, California had its work cut out for it as hundreds of people gathered in and around its perimeter to witness the completely sold out show. The line-up was just slightly out of this world, boasting in alphabetical order: Alesso, 3LAU, Borgore, Crizzly, Crookers, Dyro, GTA, Mat Zo, Morgan Page and Otto Knows. Oh yeah, they all brought their talented [...]

Back when MTV was primarily a music channel, music videos were almost as important as the songs themselves. The changing musical climate, however, has rendered music videos just a few notches above obsolete. Still, although no one is clamoring for them anymore, they're still being released with some frequency. Almost a year after Otto Knows released " Million Voices ," or as I affectionately call it, the "E, E, E, E, E, Ah, Ah, Ah, Ah, Ah" song, the Refune artist has uploaded a music video. It's just a series moving mouth images, which is fitting for the [...]

Like any native of New Jersey, much of my younger 20s were spent stumbling through the neon lit and awkwardly carpeted atriums of Atlantic City's dated casinos. In terms of luxury and elegance there wasn't much to look forward to along the Jersey coastline. Debauchery? yes, luxury? hell no. When news of Revel's development began, our eyes once again looked towards the Jersey coast. Their mission was bold - make Atlantic City a destination for more than just geriatrics on slot machines. It's aim was to bring all of the luxury and grandeur of Vegas's preeminent hotels to the North [...]

Hey everyone, Happy New Years! Glad to be a part of OHD and I'm excited to share my favorite progressive tracks from throughout 2012 with you. It's been a blast with tons and tons of amazing music released throughout the year but I've nailed it down to a few. You all know how much I love progressive music and I hope you all appreciate what I have to offer you for the VERY best in the progressive music scene. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

In appreciation of hitting 7000 fans on Facebook in under a year, Jakob Liedholm releases his brand new mix just in time for the New Year’s festivities. The 10-track, 35 and half minute mix is brimming with electronic dance music gems that will get any party rocking. The exclusive mix even contains Liedholm’s collaboration with Henrix as well as his banging remix of “Closer” by Example—which on its own is a beast of a track. Go and show the guy some love! And have a safe and happy New Year! Download will cost you a Facebook "like." [...]
It’s inevitable that countdowns will always spark controversy, that’s just the nature of the beast. Some tracks will be snubbed, some overlooked, and some ranked higher than you may have expected. We’ve already gone over our ranking criteria at length but despite our own self-imposed guidelines , 2012 proved to be more difficult to rank than years past. With the EDM explosion officially in full swing throughout the year, the sheer number of releases was mind numbing, and — consequently — nearly impossible to rank. There has been no greater challenge for the editors [...]

So can anyone explain to me why I've just seen this video for the first time, when it has been around for a month? Can't see the video? Try ProxTube

More names will be released pretty soon, but as of now this is the talent on the bill with Swedish House Mafia: Nero, Alesso, Zedd, Otto Knows, Clockwork, An21 and Max Vangeli, Third Party and Monsta. The show will feature two stages and will cap out at 35,000 so if you do wanna get inside the Masquerade Motel don’t sleep on tickets. If you remember, tickets for the originally announced March 9th date sold out within 30 minutes so an additional date on March 8th was added. BTW, if you missed the news last [...]
