Our Lady Peace stream first single, new album out Jul 21 Our Lady Peace are streaming their first single " All You Did Was Save My Life " from their forthcoming album titled " Burn Burn " here . Album drops July 21st.
Canadian rockers, Our Lady Peace have announced a followup to 2005's Healty in Paranoid Times . Titled Burn Burn , the seventh studio album is set for a July 21st release, and the first single, "All You Did Was Save My Life", hits airwaves toward the end of May. Instead of the logical studio approach, the band opted to keep things "real." As a result, the album was recorded in vocalist Raine Maida's Los Angeles home, where he'll finish up his production duties. This should surprise many fans, as this move marks a first [...]

Remember how a few weeks ago we pointed out the 311 will be releasing a new album ? Well, add another 90s alternative rock band to the list of new releases this year: Our Lady Peace. The Canadian band will release their new album, Burn Burn , on July 21 through Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group. A tracklisting for the new disc is available after the jump, and I will own up to the fact that, yes, I did listen to Our Lady Peace in high school. "Burn Burn" Official Tracklisting: [...]

Though well known for singing "If You Talk Much (My Head Will Explode)", People in Planes conversation with Joshua , though verbose, is sure to have nothing but a positive effect on you. Joshua took some time to talk about everything from television to the 90s to being a part of sort of British Invasion with People in Plane's lead singer, Gareth Jones . Check out the interview here: Joshua, PopWreckoning: As you've been playing the new stuff live, how have you noticed the crowd [...]
I've waited endlessly for it to happen; the sifting of the music genres through each respective time period, past the bands influenced by the 70s and 80s, kicking the door wide open for drop D tuning and other signature sounds of the 90s. Honestly, I have never really gotten a clearer glimpse of this in a music venue, as I did this night listening to Low vs. Diamond piece through their set, which anyone outside on the street could have easily mistaken for Our Lady Peace . Though poor sound qualitydue to an apathetic sound [...]

There are very few times in a "music writer's" life that you get to interview someone you're an uber-fan of. Once I interviewed Drowning Pool and questioned why I ever listened to music. When a chance moment comes, you brag to your friends and let everyone know how superior you are to them. Last month, I had the opportunity to talk to Raine Maida , the lead singer of Our Lady Peace , about his first solo album, the upcoming OLP record, and various other whatevers. I own [...]

A bit more Juliana Hatfield news for ya on this Monday morning. Don't forget to set those DVRs to catch Hatfield on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno this eve. Michael Eisenstein (former guitarist of Letters To Cleo , touring mate of Nina Gordon , Our Lady Peace, etc...and husband and co-musical partner to Kay Hanley ) will be performing alongside Hatfield . Two great reasons to tune in.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, but the last round of tests carried on into finals. But the good news - i took my last college test ever on Friday. i have a project due Tuesday and an online class remaining, but i will never again sit in class and take a test. It hasn't really hit me yet - maybe it will when i'm completely done. i don't know if it's because, at this turning point in my life, i've been reminiscing a little bit, but this week i've been digging some older tunes [...]

Iron Man came out today and there have been some amazing reviews to say the least with a 94% approval rating on RottenTomatoes and a 78 on Metacritic . I saw the film today with a few friends...more along the lines of doing something as I am admittedly never much of an Iron Man fan in my childhood. With the good reviews, I obviously did not protest seeing the movie at all. The movie itself was good but not great in my opinion. There are some funny moments and it the best part of the [...]
It's American Idol Gives Your Tax Refund Away week. Noble enough, urging folks to dial a whole different set of 888s , though the threat of a single show featuring Robin Williams AND Celine Dion AND Dane Cook might have you giving the whole enterprise your back, or at least the finger. How are you supposed to give-til-it-hurts when they lead with the pain? Starving children in underprivileged nations are all like, "Dane Cook? No, thanks, I'm watching my weight." On last night's performance show, contestants were urged to We Are [...]
So this morning the unthinkable happened. I crashed my car. I am still in shock and shambles and am trying to figure out how I'm going to make life work now. You see I commute to both my jobs and to school; each being at least 25 minutes away. My life is my car and I have this feeling like my life just got a punch to the jugular. At least I didn't get a ticket. In better news we're throwing a contest for Sally Shapiro and all the details on that little diddy are below. [...]
From about 13-17 years old, Our Lady Peace were one of my favorite bands. Those of you only familiar with their output over the last five plus years might wonder why I wouldn't keep that to myself. However, prior to guitarist Mike Turner's departure during the recording of Bob Rock-produced pop atrocity Gravity , they were one of the most innovative bands in mainstream rock. Consider "Clumsy", their first single to receive significant US radio play, (at least as best as I can remember). Stylistically, it's not that far removed from a lot of post-grunge [...]
In the age of iTunes and MySpace, I think it's easy to lose appreciation of what buying music is all really about. My iTunes library currently stands at a paltry 17.69 GB, something which I am not proud of and am trying to fix at the moment (my iPod died a few weeks ago, along with all the music contained on it)... However, if you were to convert that 17.69 Gigabytes of music into CDs, you might be shocked at how much tuneage that actually is. Going on the assumption that each CD is 12 tracks, and on average each [...]

Time to listen to tracks with hours of the day. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Midnight from By The Way Fairweather - South Street, 1am from If They Move... Kill Them Iron Maiden - 2AM from The X-Factor Matchbox 20 - 3am from Yourself or Someone Like You Our Lady Peace - 4am from Clumsy [...]

Have you ever had one of those days where you wake up and feel lower than you've ever felt? The kind of sadness where you don't want to get out of bed in the morning? That's how I felt as soon as I woke up this morning. Not sure why I feel this way but I haven't been able to shake this feeling. I did manage to drag myself into going about my normal routine. Hopefully, I will pull myself out of this funk. Our Lady Peace - Are You Sad? from [...]

I used to have purple hair. It was my only experiment in hair-dying, and it didn't actually turn out too well because the purple didn't hold very long, so it was mostly just a dirty blond and it took forever to grow out. But even so, purple hair is pretty awesome. It's weird because I usually think people look best when they're just natural. I don't like piercings or tattoos at all, don't get the appeal of makeup, and am strongly against bleached-blond hair. But for some reason, I absolutely love hair dyed bright [...]
The last three years I have succumbed to allergies. This part of May makes me less than happy. I thought I would escape the pain this year but woke up with a scratchy throat. I think it will only get worse. Damn Trees! Song: Coptic Times Artist: Bad Brains Album: Rock For Light Comments: This Ric Ocasek produced album is the ultimate hardcore album. Eliminating most of the mistakes from Roir Cassette. Fast, brutal, and untouchable. These four guys invented hardcore. [...]
