I first began writing TRUST ME ON THIS because I wanted to write about the music that I love, and I hoped that others would discover and grow to love bands through my blog. Owl City, the band that I'll be sharing with you today, has special significance because it is the first that I've [...]

Filed under: Songs , Exclusive With the premiere of his new single, 'Hot Air Balloon,' one-man electro-band Owl City is ready to make some noise. Literally. Often compared to groups like the Postal Service , Adam Young would describe his sound as "sorta like apple shampoo soap bubbles... only, music." That's good enough for Kate Havenevik , who tweeted about Owl City recently. While Young will spend the summer honing his live act with both a headlining tour and a West Coast jaunt with Relient [...]

You knew in five minutes - But I knew in a sentence I came to find you I see you, always struggling If we could sit together a moment and talk forever just to pass the time How to explain,...

Howdy. Picking up from yesterday's post, we're ready to start into the list proper. I'd like to point out once again that this was a remarkably difficult list to make-more so than even in past years-and there are some great albums here. But I can't waffle any more at this point-it's time to shit or get off the pot. So here we go. 50. Fall Out Boy - Folie à Deux I'm pretty sure any indie cred I still had just went out the window but, perhaps despite [...]

Music should strike fire from the heart of man, and bring tears from the eyes of woman. ~ Ludwig van Beethoven ~ What is the essence of adept or good music? Is it the mere ability to catch people's attention or has it had to do with the virtuoso style of creating the songs which somehow makes it unique from other pieces? +/- I couldn't answer that. In some ways, music has its own relativity. For almost 500 posts here in Play which 6 months later [...]
Owl City is a lap-pop project of Adam Young. Owl City was created in early 2007 in Owatonna, Minnesota, and has released two albums, "Of June" and "Maybe I'm Dreaming." Owl City has reached the Top Unsigned Artist position on Myspace by exceeding a total play count of 10 million. Young is currently working on two side projects, Swimming With Dolphins , and Port Blue (an "Ambient / Pop" genres project), similar to that of work from former Merck artist Helios , who is now signed to the indie label Type Records. The side projects of [...]
Owl City "The Christmas Song" Listen to Owl City 's " The Christmas Song " here .

Photo credit: Marina Saucegraphy Who knew that the lead singer from Danger Radio, Andrew de Torres, would be The Jonas Brothers' #1 fan? But his iTunes library says something different... his most played tune is "The Saltwater Room" from Owl City which I totally digg, good eardrum! 1. What's your role in Danger Radio? I sing 2. How many instruments to do you play? I play trumpet, guitar and a little piano. So.. 2 and a half? [...]

So tell me darling, do you wish we'd fall in love? All the time The Saltwater Room by Owl City

Photo by Sara Kiesling Hello, my name is Adam. I prefer daydreams over reality. I call music my muse. I write and record everything you hear in my bedroom. I have trouble sleeping. These songs are all I have to show for my sleepless nights. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them. It means the world to know someone is out there listening. I can't tell you how much I appreciate you. I'm definitely listening over and over again. [...]

I'll admit right off the bat that if I found Owl City a few years ago, I'd be proclaiming it the best music I'd heard in a long time. Of course, I've been past my Postal Service phase for a while now, and while Mae are still a guilty pleasure of mine, they're not nearly as much after their latest album, which was somewhat of a disappointment for me. But, let's pretend it's 2004 again and both Mae and the Postal Service cut an album together. Sounds like an interesting, but great combo right? Well, thanks to Adam [...]

I recently swapped music with my friend Grant before he left town for good to live in Detroit. He will be missed surely, but I figured I'd take advantage of one of the few people besides me here in town that had an even more extensive, organized music collection than me. I think all but a few of these songs came from stuff he shared with me. Owl City's my favorite of the bunch. Mae meets the Postal Service. If that combo intrigues you, I recommend checking them out asap. Enjoy the mix! [...]

Maybe I'm Dreaming was released this year and is the second album from Owl City. Adam Young, the brains behind the operation, uses his affinity for song writing and music to create an album that's classy and timeless. Drawing similarities from bands like The Postal Service and A Rocket To The Moon, Owl City is essentially a pop/electronica band that has gone down the mellow path. What makes Owl City so entertaining is the relaxing nature of the music, and Adam's ability to stay upbeat and positive. Straying away from songs about girls and the likes, the [...]
