The Pacific Festival — the one-day gathering of rock, pop and electro artists now staging at its third venue in as many years — has announced set times for Sunday. Mayer Hawthorne headlines the event at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina (1131 Back Bay Drive in Newport Beach), but the festival figures to draw plenty of electro fans for the likes of Poolside, Capital Cities, Goldroom, YACHT and American Royalty. This past Saturday, I attended the second annual Pacific Festival held in Silverado, California. This year's event was about 15x larger than last, spanning a few big stages hosting world renowned talent like Snoop Dogg, Calvin Harris, Cut Copy, and much more. This past Saturday, I attended the 2nd annual Pacific Festival at Oak Canyon Ranch in Orange County. Last year, the festival apparently happened at an outdoor mall, so the fact that the venue changed from that to a beautiful outdoor park was about as attractive as the stellar lineup. Genuinely excited to attend and cover, the 2nd annual Pacific Festival proved to be a decent event at best. Although I experienced a handful of highlights (listed below), the entire event felt lacking. At some of the worst portions of the night, I felt it was poorly planned and flat-out unorganized (also listed below).
