During my visit to Madrid, I paid a visit to the Prado Museum - or the National Museu del Prado to give it its full title. The museum was filled with stunning landscapes, biblical scenes and cleverly positioned classical paintings but I was particularly partial to the many portraits on display. Here are my 10 favourite portraits from the Prado. Maria Isabel of Braganza was the Spanish queen whose collection founded the basis of the Prado museum. Queen Maria Isabel had a great affection for art, but [...]
This is totally staged. The millennial totally nails that interrogative affectation at the end of each sentence, as if every statement she's making is actually a question? I've always been really passionate about painting and drawing, and when younger, these were disciplines I practiced quite often. Then (as with many of my generation and forward) the computer happened and the only "paint" I used was part of Microsoft's software. Now after many years, I find myself wanting to return to those roots. This in part thanks to other designers that have inspired me to want to incorporate different mediums in to my work, such as Michael Cina for example, who in my opinion has proven that all of these disciplines can coexist within a designer [...]

Recorded over almost over the course of an entire academic year, The Paint EP is step-forward for the four-piece, and [...]

Virginia based artist Todd Hale has created an ongoing series of colorful illustrations created solely on an ipad. He only uses his fingers to create these vibrantly grotesque paintings. Through these works, Todd has brought the childishness tradition of finger painting to the forefront by transforming the medium into the digital realm of the 21st century. The idea remains the same minus the mess and clean up, I think Todd is definitely onto something!

Pauline Boty on her bed in 1963. At 2.00pm on Monday, 8 July 1968, and nine days before the world premiere, three of the Beatles arrived at a press-screening of Yellow Submarine. It was at the 102-seat cinema situated inside Bowater House in Knightsbridge, a massive post-war office block that was distinctly ‘carbuncular’ in appearance. It had been built a decade before in 1958 by the developer Harold Samuel for the Bowater-Scott Corporation the world's largest newsprint company, and the building completely dominated the adjacent Scotch Corner junction. John Lennon was the Beatle [...]

Part of the reason for me choosing to write about this album is that I recently had the chance to explain why I loved it so when guesting on a regional radio show (it’s kind of my thing these days, I’m the Luis Guzman of Internet/Community radio) and I choked like one of Eminem’s opponents in 8 Mile (Times Up, Over, Blauw!)…totally blew it and like Gary Numan finds on this album, I want redemption! I’m not trying to put across some kind of “ Oh-I’m-not-cool-and-I-don’ t-care-because-I-have-so-much- integrity ” nonsense. I released the Nosferatu D2 album; [...]

Maison Kitsuné Californian Summer Sketched By Jean-Philippe Delhomme
Super-stirring satirist Jean-Philippe Delhomme, highly renowned for his Unknown Hipster Diaries, once more sketched Maison Kitsuné's spirit with wittiness and subtlety. And this time, his illustrations are highly inspired by the Californian models of our Spring-Summer 2013 lookbook: Los Angeles Venus Chelsea Schuchman and peppy preppy skater Braydon Szafranski. Have a look to Jean-Phillipe Delhomme's nifty parodies below, paralleled [...]
