Foxy Shazam performed at the National back in January and are making a return appearance on Wednesday, Oct. 26, this time opening for Panic! at the Disco (who I seriously thought had broken up) and Patrick Stump , the lead singer from Fall Out Boy. It's safe to say that this show attract legion of obnoxious teenage girls, so I think I will have to sit this one out (or get VIP tickets from someone nice). Though this week's new releases is full of all sorts of very exciting releases (such as a whole bunch of vinyl reissues from Dinosaur Jr. and a DVD from "Weird Al" Yankovic 's latest round of touring), we're most giddy about the new album from AIDS Wolf , Ma Vie Banale Avant-Garde (pictured). But, of course, the new releases don't stop there. Bar/None puts out the latest from Emperor X , Warner Bros. has a new one from Mutemath , and FatCat releases an album from We Were Promised Jetpacks . [...]

Panic at the Disco have released a new jam, "Mercenary", off the upcoming soundtrack for B atman: Arkham City . I guess video game soundtracks are kind of in these days? Anyway, song is undeniable theatric catchiness. The sample in the middle of the song doesn't fit too well, but everything else is vintage PATD.
