Fall Out Boy may be the band that I, as a music enthusiast, am most indebted to, being everything I needed at the right time. Aside from being the perfect mix of my pop-music upbringings, my earlier punk phase and the pop-rock “scene” bands I was well into at the moment, they were the soundtrack to pretty much the entirety of my formative high school years, lending their music to field trip coach rides, spontaneous sing-alongs in hallways and all the times we got our hands on YouTube. Alongside fellow Fueled By Ramen stars, and [...]

Once upon a time, in the golden days of our youth, there was the Emo phenomenon. Remember those days? The days of eyeliner, sadness and men wearing women’s jeans (ok, that still happens). The days when the only songs lining our brick-like iPods expressed the deep emotional and existential angst we were experiencing. Those days were awesome. We decided to get nostalgic and relive our emo-kid past with a 20 Fave list. We laid some ground rules for the list to make sure it didn’t become the 20 Weezer , Fugazi and Cursive songs list [...]

Panic! At The Disco are currently in the recording studio, could this mean a new album is in the works? The band are yet to comment at this stage.

Panic! At The Disco have recruited Dallon Weekes as a permanent member of the band following the recent departure of Ian Crawford.

Please, girl. You should be dancing with me... That's what our fellow foursome Nameless dropped on the Kitsune Parisien II sampler within the past month. In terms of samplers, we can't say enough about the quality Parisien delivers. In terms of dance-pop bands Nameless vents similarities like likes of Panic! At The Disco (with a few French words here and there). These guys deliver some solid keyboards, guitars and an all-around band effort with "Angelina". Pump it up, it's the weekend! More Nameless on Soundcloud . [...]

You may remember BIGkids . You may not. It depends if you read our blog, and even if you read it do you listen to what we say? We don't blame you if you don't. We wouldn't. So here is a reminder of 'Drum In Your Chest'. It's getting a proper release on March 4th (although we don't have a pre-order link for you - HINT HINT friends at BIGkids HQ) BIGkids 'Drum In Your Chest': We totally love this. We'd like to see them live. [...]

The New York Post ran a story about Katy Perry partying at SoHo House in West Hollywood. The story suggested that the newly divorced singer was flirting and dancing the whole night, seemingly unbothered by her marriage falling apart. Well, the woman who actually was at SoHo house that night was Sarah Orzechowski , and the mystery man she was flirting with, is her fiancé Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco fame. Needless to say, Sarah was amused. Posting to [...]
11. The Wombats 'This Modern Glitch' - Much, much too fun to care about the haterz. 12. Panic! at the Disco 'Vices & Virtues' - A hooks-stuffed reminder of what made these so striking in the first place. 13. Death Cab for Cutie 'Codes and Keys' - Fresh enough to lock down their place in [...]

When reviewing singles I always use the philosophy, if you end up having the track on constant repeat after the first listen then it’s good. This was certainly the case for Brother & Bones' single Hold me like the Sun. The single cover describes them sounding a bit like Mumford and Sons (I ca... Read more..

Foxy Shazam performed at the National back in January and are making a return appearance on Wednesday, Oct. 26, this time opening for Panic! at the Disco (who I seriously thought had broken up) and Patrick Stump , the lead singer from Fall Out Boy. It's safe to say that this show attract legion of obnoxious teenage girls, so I think I will have to sit this one out (or get VIP tickets from someone nice). Foxy Shazam is seriously the only reason I would go this show. They are beyond incredible [...]
