In the incessantly evolving world of blog-able music there is no rest for the wicked. Being "busy" just isn't acceptable. Turn away for a couple days and your guilt tripped into feeling out of sync. I've been a naughty blogger recently, but I'm reforming my indolent ways. In the world of radio [...]

Ever wonder what it would sound like if a Scotsman made a reggae song with the help of ?uestlove? Of course you did. I bet you didn't think it would sound like this though. Paulo Nutini sounds more like Toots on this track, which is off his sophomore album, Sunny Side Up . Very cool. Saw it at IGIF . Paulo Nutini - 10/10 (ft. ?uestlove) PigeonsandPlanes

A few years back I was charmed by Paolo Nutini's infectious single "New Shoes". Shortly thereafter I had the chance to catch the Scottish-born, Italian-bred singer perform a little diddy in the press tent at Bonnaroo (2007). His personality and pleasant folk-pop style made him easy to enjoy. Nutini released his sophomore effort, Sunny Side Up , this week to an eager Europe and optimistic America. The LP is definitely quirky; it's apparent Nutini is trying to shed his skin somewhat and implement styles not heard on his debut. He [...]

Sunny Side Up (6/2/09) Paolo Nutini returns with his 2nd album, "Sunny Side Up" today. I saw him perform with Canadian songstress Serena Ryder in April (see video) Paulo has matured in his songwriting and continues to impress me with only his 2nd album as a songwriter and singer who I wouild bet will be around for the longer haul ( eg in today's music world > 3 albums) and will continue to magically mix his Scottish heritage and shaking unpredictable vocals into more uplifting melodic songs. [...]

I had high hopes for Paolo Nutini's new album. I really liked the simple, laid back tracks that were on his previous album and they really were perfect for relaxing in the garden or more preferably, on a beach somewhere. However, the heavy trumpet opening of the first song on the album, "10/103 alerted you to the fact Nutini's sound had changed. My first impressions of the album were mixed. The vocals weren't as good or clear as they were on his previous effort "These Streets" although the songs sounded fuller. The brass instruments made a big impression [...]

Not wanting to shun the old formula, Dave and I will be live blogging from our mothers' respective basements for the next week or so. If the posting suddenly gets better, we'll know that's why. Sadly, there is no new Wavves album this week, so we can't increase our traffic further by trashing it. What is being released, however, is fairly light. The Jeff Buckley release looks interesting, and the Dave Matthews is obviously the main draw. Beyond that, it's all about preference. Go for the classic punk of Rancid, the Scottish pop [...]

Following Paolo Nutini 's emphatic 12-date UK Tour, triumphant Radio One Big Weekend Show and sublime performance on Jools Holland in May, Paolo announces a 15-date Autumn UK tour on the same day that he releases his hugely impressive new album 'Sunny Side Up' , out today. Preceding the new 15-date tour are festival shows at Isle of Wight, Glastonbury, T in The Park, Oxygen and V , as well as tours in America and Europe. Paolo Nutini 2009 UK tour [...]

Fans of Paolo Nutini's debut album, These Streets might raise an eyebrow or two at this sophomore release. Produced by Ethan Johns (Kings Of Leon), Sunny Side Up features an eclectic and "rougher" range of songs that set it somewhat apart from its slick predecessor. Recorded in Ireland, Wales, New York, LA and the UK, Nutini--backed by his band The Vipers--tackles folk, reggae, soul and rock,
I'm beginning to wonder if Scottish singer/songwriter Paolo Nutini doesn't suffer from some reverse Benjamin Button thing. The 22 year-old's new album, Sunny Side Up (out June 2nd), is the sound of a young man aging in front of our eyes. The record is a collection of songs written and sung by a man who is mature beyond his years. Nutini draws upon a number of old time genres to create a
