These are just a few of the songs that would get their own individual posts here on GIMME TINNITUS if I only had the time. You can stream (and scrobble ) all the songs in this mix using the ex.fm player at the bottom of the page OR you can just download any or all of the tracks at your leisure and play them using a digital media player of your [...]

DeadJournalist's Paper Crane I was due to write a new piece for Paper Crane Collective tonight that would post in my usual, bi-weekly slot tomorrow morning. Sadly, it was announced that the project was coming to an end today. (The official announcement is coming Monday morning, from what I understand.) Paper Crane Collective was a group of 27 music writers/blogs from North American and Europe who were all posting original content in one source. It was a great idea - a music site with more editorial chops than some other music blogs that primarily [...]
Digster Dave has written a new All Time Top 5 for the Paper Crane Collective . Head on over to dig some ironic cover tunes from the likes of Ted Leo, Yael Naim, and the Bad Plus.

Growing up, my best friends and I would make mixtapes for each other by ripping songs from the radio or other cassettes we owned. The other day when I was visiting my family in the house I grew up in I began to dig through some old boxes. I was pleasantly surprised to find a pile of these old mixtapes. Let me tell you they were fantastic to listen to all over again. The nostalgia was overwhelming. I even found my old Wu-Tang collection. Man, I was way cooler then. If you're from the Boston area then I'm [...]

First, a little housework. I promise that not every article will reference my newborn, but this post will. He was born a little over a week-and-a-half ago and was in NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care) for 10 days. As I'm writing this (on Saturday), he's been home for just over 12 hours. I'm running on about 1.5 hours sleep. But he's doing good and we are happy to have him home. Finally. Because of the unplanned post-birth scenario, I have done little music-related anything in the last two weeks. In the numerous trips back-and-forth from [...]

You all may have noticed the large white crane sitting on the sidebar that links to Tsuru Radio music blog. I've been invited along with 23 other music bloggers to contribute to this Paper Crane Collective of incredible and well respected bloggers. Today was my first post about a musical adventure at the library. I'll be writing about music discoveries at the library twice a month. I highly suggest reading through some of the posts. Everyone contributes original content and all together it makes for a really interesting read with everyones personalities coming through strong, it's practically like a magazine. [...]
