When I first got the email with this new track from Helvetia , I was immediately drawn to the band's participation with Papercuts , one of my favorite acts. Now, while I can definitely see some similarities in regards to how songs slowly build before reaching their climax, this group doesn't seem to have the same somber tones, instead offering up a bit of light through that Pacific Northwest rainy weather. The group will be releasing their new record, On the Lam , on April 12th via [...]

This be indie pop goodness like there's no tomorrow. If it's not sunny though, then you probably won't dig it...nah, actually scrap that. Just close your eyes. And then it might make you feel all sunny and stuff. The dude is called Papercuts and he's from the states. The track is called Do What You [...]
The new video from Papercuts for "Do You Really Wanna Know" is a live performance by the band that was shot in San Francisco at the YoursTruly studio. Jason Quever ethereal voice and evocative songwriting really come through on this song. It's a tremendous combination with the reverb heavy music that uses older instruments to maintain an atmospheric, '60s style cool, "above it all" feel. The fantastic song is set to appear on Papercuts' new Fading Parade . Papercuts_DoYouReallyWannaKnow .mp3 Papercuts - Do You Really Wanna [...]

From Papercuts' upcoming album, "Fading Parade"

Do You Really Wanna Know Do What You Will Papercuts are from San Francisco and have a resume' that goes four albums deep. They've done it very quietly and subdued...much like their lazy, echoey, at time haunting, 60s inspired music so I suppose it's a perfect fit. Their fourth LP will be released on March 1 on Sub Pop ! records and doesn't stray far from the formula. It works well so why mess with it? Listen to two songs from the new record above, and [...]

It's nice when we can put the worry's of the outside world behind us and just concentrate on important things like what new albums are coming out this week. I am pretty stoked for Those Darlins new album Be Your Bro , mostly because they are cool gals AND their music is good AND I like the word "Bro"... bro. OK... as it turns out it's just a single and the song is called Be Your Bro . Most people would have just re written that whole thing, but I believe in owning up to your [...]

Papercuts' new album, Fading Parade, will be released on March 1st, and we've got a ton of news and media to share with you tonight. The new album is the fourth album for Jason Robert Quever's Papercuts and the first on the Sub Pop label. The album is described as "Belle & Sebastian teaming up with Slowdive and recording with Phil Spector back when he was killing it in the studio rather than, well, you know." It's also being described as Papercuts' liveliest record, as Quever wrote with live performance in mind and [...]

Tweet Papercuts - "Do What You Will" The perfectly set tone completes the video for a new track from Papercuts , "Do You Really Wanna Know." An open warehouse space with bright wood floors, the admiring spectators with wine in hand, every element of the scene is natural. Or is it? Yours Truly held a private party at The Common for the filming of their recent Papercuts session , providing refreshments [...]

Sub Pop has once again added another ear candy band to the line-up called, Papercuts. Although this is the band's fourth album release, it is the first with Sub Pop. Jason Quever, the only permanent member of San Francisco's Papercuts, has heard the first three albums by his fantasy-camp band referred to as "California dream pop" so many times, he has a readymade response for the pigeonholing of his work: "What do you mean? I thought my music was weird." True enough, the hazy, cobwebbed, [...]

SubPop has just released a couple MP32s from Papercuts upcoming album, Fading Parade , due to release on March 1st. We wrote about Papercuts previously, and described Jason Quever as indie music's version of Kevin Bacon (which was a compliment). You can download the first single, "Do What You Will," below. And check out the video for an additional song from the forthcoming album. I dig both. They're also touring with Beach House - not bad company. Papercuts - Do What You Will [...]

Sub Pop is off and running this year, and are priming the new Papercuts album, Fading Parade to be one of their gems of Spring. Papercuts has a staunch repertoire and apparently the new effort is more expansive and dabbles into some new territory, but thankfully keeps the intensely crafted arrangements that we've all come to know and love. Jason Robert Quever isn't shy when it comes to lofty ambitions, and the busy nature of his gazillion 'what-have-yous' always blend together into gorgeous audio. The label and band have offered up the [...]
