Ramones Rocket To Russia - Sire - 1977 Hard to believe Rocket to Russia by The Ramones came out 34 years ago today in 1977! I first spun this record 8 years after it's release. This is the one and only Ramones record in my humble opinion to own. It's a dirty shame cancer took Johnny and Joey Ramone. I know I need to go get my prostate checked . So let this be my and your reminder because there will never be a band making [...]
This record could not have a better title.

This Saturday, one of the best psychedelic rock bands in recent memory are in the Cincinnati area and we want you to go, for free. On Saturday night, Austin's The Black Angels return to the area for a show at the Southgate House in Newport. Of course, you know about these guys by now, and they have made a handful of stops in our fine city in the past few years to solidify their excellent reputation, but just in case you forgot or have missed out on their live performance, we are here to nudge you in that [...]
(I have been just WAITING for an excuse to use this picture. -M) Who is Cyclist? At a time when the word "disco" is thrown about and abused like a $10 Peruvian prostitute, he is one of a select few committed to keeping the sound funky and authentic. His EP just dropped on Homebreakin Records (currently #5 on the Juno nudisco charts) and has been popping up in dj playlists from Treasure Fingers to

Parallels - Salome (Cyclist Remix) by Cyclist
One morning last week I woke up to an email from Ryan with the subject line, Choose Not to Fail . Embracing the potential dose of morning inspiration I watched the film that he had sent my way. An introspective look into the life and pursuits of parkour enthusiast Daniel Ilabaca, this short film relates Daniels thoughts on the power of living in the moment, and his tools for breaking free from the monotony of mundane society. An interesting piece for a variety of reasons, this one should be valuable for anyone looking to harness a bit more from [...]

John Robb's essay on America's current state of affairs might be the best thing you'll read all day. His analysis is interesting and connects the dots in ways that I haven't come across anywhere else. The result of central planning in the US has finally hit the wall. The list of problems is endless. The misallocations range from the dangerous $600 trillion derivatives market to the destruction of the US middle class (by exporting jobs and the substitution of income with debt). The end result is that our economic and political system [...]

This weekend I watched a documentary film called Parallel Worlds, Parallel Lives - it's not new, it was made back in 2007, but my friend Andrea and I watched it after I started talking about this conversation I had with my boyfriend about Quantum Physics. She told me about this documentary that follows EELS f rontman on a search to understand his deceased father, and his legacy. Mark Oliver Everett is the son of Hugh Everett III- the radical creator of the [...]

The lovely as always Bluesbunny has written a nice little piece about my new EP 'O - part two of L.O.V.E' and given me four carrots to snack on! Thanks Bluesbunny! " O - Part Two of L.O.V.E" by Sofia Talvik is, as the title suggests, the second part in a series of fan funded EPs by one of the most affecting Swedish singer songwriters to cross the threshold here at Bluesbunny Towers. It could easily be said that there are no surprises here but you [...]

Amazing live recording from San Francisco's The Soft Moon at Incase Room 205 Watch | The Soft Moon - Parallels The Soft Moon live in Amsterdam 14 May @ Occii

Illustration by Sagaki Keita [Komisch] (buy vinyl tk) ( buy mp3s ) Since his self-titled 2009 debut for Komisch, Irish producer The Parallel has turned out a stream of releases for smaller imprints, persistently carving out a sound that is more or less a kind of techno lover's techno. On Cosmic Observer , his first release of 2011, he returns to the label with three varied tracks. Aerodynamic opener "Side Exosphere" economically combines a driving pace with liquid dubbiness. As [...]

The Soft Moon perform the driving polyrhythmic dark punk of "Parallels" from last year's outstanding self-titled album. The band teamed up with director Otto Arsenault, Incase and Room 205 for this haunting clip that features fractured light imagery and textures coming together. Such a great video. We can also expect two more clips of the band on May 9th and 16th.
Hey Austin! Parallels will be in town this Wednesday May 4th at Mohawk. If you haven't heard of them yet, I'm sure you're going to love them! They're a dark, synth-pop duo... **Summary** Go to website for downloads, videos & more.
