Berlin electro/techno master Boys Noise remixed Michael Jackson on a whitelabel 123 in 2006. The track is labeled as "eAT IT". Interestingly, the B-side is funny man "Weird" Al Yankovic 's track of the same name. (Now a question, how does this compare to the hot-shit Villains ' track 'Thrilla' found here ?) One album that came close to making my 2007 list but didn't quite have the oomph is Riot! - the sophomore record from pop-punkers Paramore . The ultimate reason why it ended up on the outside looking in was my terminal inability to decide whether it was a guilty pleasure or simply a very enjoyable record. All the signs are here: catchy guitar riffs, angry (but not too angry) lyrics being belted out by a precocious singer (any review must introduce her as "eighteen year old Hayley Williams"). Think Avril with a bit [...]
One of of my resolutions last January was to "return to my roots" and focus a little more on the punk music that sustained my teenage years. I think I did a pretty good job accomplishing that goal. So you don't like punk music? Tough. Yeah, I like my fair share of indie rock and other such fare, but the Burial record did nothing for me. Neither did the Panda Bear album or Neon Bible . Deal with it. 30. Modest [...]

Paramore, "Crushcrushcrush" (Live in Boston, 11/24/2007) Paramore, "Pressure" (Live in Boston, 11/24/2007) Paramore, "Misery Business" (Live in Boston, 11/24/2007) We were way late to the Paramore bandwagon, and only picked up on them a few weeks before Riot! hit stores this year, but for shit's sake, you knew we were gonna love this band : shamelessly pop, adorable teenage girl singer, and a hit song that bounds onto Top 40 radio despite being a) [...]

You'd think that, going to see a band with one popular, breakthrough album, you're bound to hear both your favorite songs. So how on earth did Paramore, one of my favorite bands of the year, get through an entire 80 minute set without playing Hallelujah? That's one of my top jams of 2007! One of two songs I really went to hear. And I get jipped out. Bummer. Regardless, super fun show. Not much in the way of spectacle, aside from some the head shaking and running around, but the crowd loved it and Hayley's voice held [...]

WHO WANTS TO GET ME TICKETS! I'll probably have to call Audrey and Hanna on this one. Make them work their emo connections. But for real I want to go. So if you want a hot date e-mail me: Skeet (at) EatSkeet.com Also last night @ borgata was a lot of fun, I played at Mur.Mur and basically dropped Top 40 until about 2am when I started playing throwback east coast rap, ace of base, alice deejay, basically whatever I wanted. Well fun. Tonight i'm off. [...]

N ot only is today Halloween, it is also my beautiful wife Amy's thirtieth (30th) birthday. That's a milestone that means, "Damn we are gettin' old!" At least I have a year to go. Anyhow, since I already had this post basically done prior to the death of my computer, all I have to do is hit the "publish" button and I'm done. Lucky me. Sometimes a little planning is a good thing. Anyhow, here are thirty songs for thirty years. All specifically for my wife and all with some [...]
All the footage you never got to see and some footage you did see. The footage you did see has been touched up and you might see old footage that you didn't see in the first Paramore being Crazy 1, 2, and others. What's New? Zac freestyles, Ajax jumps, josh fixes his hair so many times, hunter gets shot by air soft gun, jeremy spots camera, haley stars in her own movie called "My Hero" Thanks again to Paramore over the years for the great times. You guys rock!! Download this video NOW (compatible for [...]
"Misery Business" is the new "Since You Been Gone" I bet if I played this song all you little emo kids at heart would get buck in the club. It'd be like the first time I played "since you been gone" and everyone started looking around at each other wondering if it was okay to like kelly clarkson, of course place went nuts. Also that chick from Paramore is kind of hot right? Well [...]

That's right, I said it: femo. Female emo. That's what Paramore is, sort of. It's not an all female band, just the singer, and though you might be confused about what that sounds like in light of groups like The Donnas, let me just say that they pull it off very well. Punkish in nature, the riffs and hooks are all in the right place to make this an accessible band and album. I'd heard about them from various sources and always wanted to check them out, so I finally did a couple weeks [...]
Dear friends, My cubicle sharer Nicole has left to go back to school. I am sad. I will miss forwarding her inappropriate links to Emo Fan Fic (Thanks Idolator!) only to have her reply, nonplussed, that it's called "Waycest" when people write about the My Chemical Romance brothers going at it. That's gross. Anywho, N played the same select songs everyday and sang along. Most of them, I shut out

Not sure what type of deal Paramore broke with MTV, but Misery Business must get played on a promo literally a dozen times an hour on that channel. Plus there's some face time on that "This isn't a beach..." ad. It's quite overwhelming. Not that I have anything against it. Paramore is a pretty good band, and Misery Business is a jam, it just seems like a pretty hard push for a band that's by no means the biggest act in the world right now. Assuming this isn't some sneaky powerplay by Fueled by Ramen to get one of their [...]

Paramore ! PopPunk! Met zangeres! Leuker dan Avril (ook dat nog, hoor ik De Kleef verzuchten)! Wat een geweldige band! Marty is weer helemaal om. Can You See The Sunset heeft een paar MP3tjes klaarstaan, waarvan deze echt overuren maakt in mijn playert.

A nother of the bands we saw at Warped Tour and were pleasantly surprised by was Paramore . This Tennessee quartet is fronted by the young and incredibly talented Hayley Williams. Despite much of the media's focus on the talented 18 year old and her ever-changing hair color, Paramore is a band and not just her backing band. The first I heard of Paramore was their 2005 single "Pressure," which was a catchy song that intrigued me enough to find out that the band's singer shared the same name as my daughter (albeit [...]

I don't care when this album came out (last year) or how young the singer is (17), these tracks are huge. Paramore is well on their way. Listen: Emergency Pressure Stuck On You - a cover of my favorite Failure song. And probably the only Failure song anyone else remembers as well.

while paramore is known more for some of their more.... poppypunk endeavors, this cover of the foo fighters "my hero" is really quite terrific - it's an acoustic cover, which really works better than you'd think. and the lead singer, hayley williams, really does have a voice that lends itself to the song nicely - more than anything, though, it shows some depth by the band which is always encouraging. paramore - my hero (foo fighters cover) paramore's myspace
