Leave it to our boy from SF to take a two year old, played-to-death club jam, depress the shit out of it with British track about being torn in half by horses, and walk away with a resonant, sweeping headphone classic almost as fun as this gallery of a young Justin Timberlake looking terrified in a cowboy costume. So I Stumbled Upon this and, well, just had to post about it... An oh so silly mash-up from San Fran DJ Party Ben of Beyonce's chart topping track "Single Ladies".....and the theme song from The Andy Griffith Show... I giggle every time I listen to it... Party Ben - Single Ladies (In Mayberry) yes, giggle I said... -Manley Himself

Vs. Download: Party Ben - "Single Ladies (In Mayberry)" Since today is unofficial mash-up day here at MFR, I'd thought I'd post something that Chris from Culture Bully left in the comment section . It's Beyonce's "Single Ladies" mashed-up with the theme from "The Andy Griffith Show", as composed by Earle Hagen. Needless to say, it's awesome.

Some of you may know Party Ben from his White Stripes meets Rakim mashup: "Pump Up The Doorbell". Here, he takes Beyonce into Mayberry where she repatedly tells Barney Fife to 'put a ring on it'. Barney really should have locked it up when he had the chance, I know I would of...Anyway, grab this cool remix below...

Got put onto this mash (thanks Will) and HOLY FUCK, this is sick. Mixed in 2007, by arguably the best masher around, Party Ben, it screams "fuck yes" and is defiantely a head boppa. Something you play in the middle of your set that gets everybody up dancing and talking about it the next day. Defiantely prefer the original mash to the Ghetto re-rub though, but here's both. GET IT. Download: Galvanize The Empire (Chemical Brothers vs. John Williams) - Party Ben [Highly [...]
Alright alright alright. I swear this is the last "Love Lockdown" mashup I'm posting. Until I find the next one. (Also, did 'yall hear Robocop yet ? Thaaat'll do just fine.) Marking the 60th anniversary of Windrush and the 50th of the Notting Hill Riots " Spit It Out " by Warning! Heat Ray! is one of this blogs favourite tracks of the year. MLD co-writer Ryan loved the disturbing way " the icy vocals and bleepy electronics combine with archive voxpop samples " while reader Renee perfectly judged the track if not our readership, flatteringly declaring " Thanks for bringing wonderful music to the masses ". Warning! Heat Ray! started a campaign to get the BBC to release their Windrush 60th anniversary documentary [...]

It was recently Michael Jackson's birthday. Rumor is, he was fifty. 50!! Christ, I'm getting old. Lots of these are mashups/remixes, because MJ makes dance music, so that's appropriate. Whatever controversy surrounds him, you can't deny Michael's skills. Happy birthday! And no zip this time, because I just can't be bothered with it. A is for ABC Easy Like ABC (blend)-Jackson 5, Tittsworth, and Green Velvet B is for beatboxing on a Billie Jean jam (Michael Jackson)-Spearhead. C is [...]

Well, it's Valentine's Day... again. It may be a happy day of love or a crappy day of its absence, but at least we have some good tunes. These songs have two things in common- 1)the word "love" in the title, and 2) I like them... Enjoy! "We're Looking for a Lot of Love" - Hot Chip "I Think I'm In Love" - Beck "I Wanna Be Your Lover (Bob Dylan Cover)" - Yo La Tengo [...]

In between his non-stop touring and working on his own albums, Lyrics Born seems to work in guesting on other artists' albums (Tommy Guerro, Galactic, RL Burnside) as well as contributing a track to other projects (NBA2K6). Frankly, I'm not sure how he fits it all in! If you're a completist, you went out and bought all of the releases, however, since 2005 LB has been releasing the audio equivalent of a Holiday Newsletter your Aunt sends out recapping the great things your cousin did that year. The Lyrics Born Variety Show releases are [...]

We like pretty much every type of music here at the Bday Party. We can get down with all sorts of stuff, from country to grindcore, so it sort of goes without saying that a well made Mash-up is gonna hit the spot. It looks like there's a pretty crazy mash-up only party/blog/conquest for global domination crew called Bootie . It started in San Francisco, and seems to be spreading everywhere now. Anyway, they did a top mash-up's of 2007, and here's my (DS's) picks: Party Ben - [...]

Terius Nash aka " The-Dream " and Tricky Stewart co-wrote Umbrella and supposedly put it on hold for Britney Spears. Spears passed on the song, instead opting for Me Against The Music , and during a session with Rihanna , the Bahama Mama snatched it up and made it the mega-hit of the Summer. According to The-Dream, Umbrella was written in just twelve minutes. [...]
